We're pretty large (30 something last time I checked?) so I'm only going to be putting frequent(ish) fronters and the technologically inclined in the list here. hey there Frustratedly Unfashionable.

A big part of any good outfit is layering, add a vest, or a jacket on top, as well as something around the middle, a belt or corset can really make or break your "drip"

As well as making sure it is visually interesting, make sure to have different colors or shades, if it is monochrome, like all black, make it interesting through texture, each piece should be slightly different.

Unless you are going for that denim on denim on denim on top of denim look, which is one of my personal favorites ^v^

really, the bottom line is it doesnt mater how "unfashionable" an outfit may seem, you just have to cary it with confidence.

I wanna add to this if it’s ok?? In Hindu mythology, Chandra, the moon, was originally thought of as a male deity. However, as time went on, symbolism involving the moon and the name “Chandra” itself became identified with femininity, with beautiful girls being described as having “moon-like faces,” with their dark, long hair reminding lovers of the midnight sky, and names like “Nilaa” (”moon” in Tamil) and “Indu” (in Sanskrit) are now pretty much now completely girl names!

I was being facetious with the trick part lol but you know the joke "I might be racist, but you're mean and that's worse?" It's the root of that. We discussed it back when we read White Fragility. You can see it in Trump, Elon Musk, and your average Tumblr racist:

They really, REALLY want to be liked. Not just liked, no that's not the right word, but validated.

Think about it this way. Racism is the status quo; the default, right? Part of maintaining that default is through normalization, and that includes the solidarity necessary to reinforce that (DiAngelo called it white solidarity).

So, if being covertly racist is the status quo, then that means you will be socially rewarded for being so. When you get rewarded, people are nice, friendly, relatable, they keke and haha right alongside you. But when you confront someone's racism, you're not socially rewarding them anymore- the spigot of validation has been paused! Instead of taking it as a valid critique, you are seen as socially punishing a person. You're being MEAN, because the validation I got from everyone else's also-racism was NICE!

That's why when you confront racism, you HAVE to stand firm on it. You cannot feed into the desire for the validation of their behavior. That's what makes a lot of people snap. The blowup is meant to stop you, to force you back into compliance! The only one being punished really is you for bringing it up.

And hell, if not socially validating a bigot is punishment... 😐 Why would that be... A bad thing? We're not hitting you with rocks, we're just saying we don't fuck with you and your behavior. (But that's also a part of really all of the books we've read in #cbc book club so far; that antiracism is seen as violence.)

Personally, I wanna live in the world where it's normal to boo racists, not coddle them. But that starts with being willing to push back against the normal we're in.

Kevin here! I don't miss much from source if I'm being honest, but I would adore the ability to research how The Smiling God was worshipped before Strexcorp got involved.

They've removed my memories of it, of course. Ever since I've been removing them from my identity I've been unsure what to do with my worship. I still feel a connection to The Smiling God, of course, but a lot of the holidays and rites feel wrong now. I know a lot of them I learned post-Strex take over or were changed in some way, but I have no idea what the original version was.

There's not really any way for me to connect with other worshippers, either. We have a Night Vale in head, but not a Dessert Bluffs, and I don't even know if anyone would want to if we did.

A God is affected by how they're worshipped, though. So since I'm the only one worshipping It in this world, to my knowledge, perhaps I could remake the old Smiling God. But I don't know where I'd start.
