A witch puts a spell on a girl, a sleeping spell that promises the girl shall wake through true love’s kiss. Men come and kiss her. She slumbers. Women come and press their lips to hers, but still she sleeps. Many years past, and the girl remains still. One bright morning,  a lost little boy finds her resting spot and clears the dust and grime from her face. He offers her a kiss on her forehead, and her eyes flutter open. She never feels romantic love for a man nor a woman, and she cares for the boy until the day she dies.

A young woman is imprisoned in a castle by a monstrously formed prince. The servants of the castle hope for them to fall in love, and when the spell is broken they assume their prayers have been answered. They are all surprised, but nonetheless pleased, when it is revealed to them that the young woman and prince are the truest of friends, and nothing more.

They say the kingdom is ruled by an evil queen, a woman who is incapable of loving. She is unmarried, she has no consorts, and she wishes for no partner. She is the wretched queen, the heartless queen. She must hate her daughter, for her daughter is beautiful, and women are incapable of liking another woman who’s prettier than themselves. It must be for this reason that the princess was sent away, not for how she was attacked by a man in the woods. They say the kingdom is ruled by an evil queen because she cannot love. The queen loves her daughter, and that is enough for them both.

There lives a prince who is forced to choose a bride at the ball. He meets many beautiful women, but find none which he loves. He spies one in a gorgeous gown and wonder in her eyes, and he dances with her all night long. The kingdom is sure he has found his bride. When the clock strikes midnight he tells her how he will never love a woman, or a man, in the way he is expected to. The beautiful woman smiles and tells him she expects nothing from him. The next morning the prince and the beautiful woman are missing, having run off together to see the world. They leave their shoes behind in their haste.

My post about transfems having periods is getting a bit of traction again, but mostly for the wrong reasons since TERFs have gotten their hands on it, so another friendly reminder that trans women/fems or anyone on estrogenizing HRT tend to experience period or period-like symptoms due to their hormonal cycle and referring to it as their period is not only a perfectly accurate description but also none of your godamn business. Menstruation is only one part of a period, not the whole thing, and not every period comes with menstruation in the first place, even if you’re a cis woman.

Trans women can have periods, and instead of interrogating them on why you think that’s not possible, instead ask them questions such as “how can I help?” or “what do you need?” or “do require chocolate, painkillers and/or a very comfortable blanket and a movie?”

Can I have a summary of project hail Mary? I keep seeing it and it seems interesting and I'm curious what it is about

hey, so sorry i took so long!

Project Hail Mary is a story where the sun is dying. There's a sun eating organism going from star to star, eating the energy and dimming them. Humanity assembles a Task Force to figure out the problem and save the Earth. Ryland Grace, our main character, is a middle school teacher adn shunned acedemic who gets recruited for this mission, and sent into space to solve the problem. Along the way, he faces issues, meets unexpected allies, and saves the planet.

Sorry if it's not the best summary, but I highly recommend it! I'd say to watch the movie before reading the book, as the movie is incredibly faithful, but be aware of slight changes, like the existence of Carl. Enjoy!

derek's obsessed with picking stiles up. he just loves having him in his arms. they go in for a simple hug and derek ends up lifting stiles up off the ground and hauling him close. stiles' limbs wrap around him and he's a tiny bit startled but honestly used to it by now. he just laughs into derek's hair and kisses his temple and clings back.

derek can manhandle him so easily. when stiles is dilly dallying derek just picks him up and carries him away bridal-style. (bridal-Stiles?)

or throws him over his shoulder, or tugs him close by his hand, or rests a heavy arm around his waist or back. derek is possessive and handsy and relishes in the fact that he gets stiles all to himself. gets to touch him and have him whenever, and stiles lets him, and loves it. he's never felt more adored, and derek's hands are so warm and strong on him, and he feels claimed, and presses back into derek so easily.

the wolf caught the fox and will never let him go, and there's no place the fox would rather be than in the maws of the wolf.
