the body ache from opioid withdrawal is not a normal body ache. it does not feel like you just did an intense workout. it feels like every cell in your body is screaming and on fire. and then because you're heart's racing and you're getting dehydrated from being sick, you feel like you're gonna faint. for me it felt like my soul was going to leave my body. and then your emotions are all out of whack. everything's raw and painful and intense.

it's not like the flu. it is nothing like the flu. i wish it were.

you also get bone aches, severe restless legs & insomnia, excessive sweating + shivering at the same time. Just not being able to get comfortable for the life of you, plus the mental symptoms are also absolutely horrible indeed.. you go to a very dark place, your anxiety will most likely go through the roof as well as you starting to feel very depressed & demotivated to do anything... It's so terrifying; and unless you've experienced it firsthand, you can't fully understand the absolute horror of it
