Basics!

✧₊⁺ Full name : Clementine June O’Connell (she dislikes her name.)

✧₊⁺ Nicknames : Clem, C.J. (Both are self-given. Nobody really uses either), Clemmie (given by Misty)

✧₊⁺ Shauna’s cousin, stays with her while Clem’s parents are away.

✧₊⁺ Her parents are nomadic hippies with a weed and shroom farm, she sells it as a side hustle when they’re gone.

✧₊⁺ She throws a lot of house parties because of this, and because she lives at the outskirts of wiskayok.

✧₊⁺ An aggressive soul, has gotten into fights since she could walk. Everybody is kinda scared of her

✧₊⁺ She’s not discreet about her family troubles, but everyone’s too scared of her to bring it up.

Relationships!

Shauna Shipman : Clementine and Shauna don’t really get along, not for any specific reason more just family beef. When they were younger they had to wear a get along shirt. When Clementine stays at the Shipman’s, she has to share a bed with Shauna.

Natalie Scatorccio : Trauma bonded, Nat’s parents are regulars at her parents ‘business’ so they’ve always hung out a lot. They’ve hidden from drunk parents and angry customers together more times than they can count.

Lottie Matthews : Lab partners. Clementine likes her because she doesn’t look down on her.

Van Palmer : First person Clementine came out to as a lesbian. She clocked Taivan pretty much the second they got together, and felt safe enough around Van to tell her.

Mari Ibarra : They’ve been tight friends since middle school, with Clementine nursing a huge crush on her. Not that she’d ever tell. (Mari feels the same tho..)

Crash!

✧₊⁺ Starts waking up with mysterious scratches all over her back.

✧₊⁺ Clem is used to long nights, so she immediately offers to take night watch.

✧₊⁺ She does most of the dirty work to stay useful and out of the hunts (cleans the fireplace, buries the bones, etc.)

✧₊⁺ During doomcoming, she’s pretty much immune due to previous micro dosing from her parents. She wanders off and doesn’t return until the next day

✧₊⁺ Doesn’t really believe in Lottie’s visions, but plays along to not be shunned out or whatever

✧₊⁺ She and Mari confess and get together

✧₊⁺ After the cabin burnt down, she shares a hut with Mari. Trusts her to take care of her scratches

✧₊⁺ After every grave she has to dig, she puts a notch on her shovel

✧₊⁺ is happy when the news of rescue is there. would’ve gone crazy without mari

Post rescue!

✧₊⁺ Her parents were nowhere to be found, so she stayed with Shauna. It was a hostile environment

✧₊⁺ became paranoid, started moving back to her house and started barricading the windows and adding extra locks.

Adulthood!

✧₊⁺ Became an embalmer at the local morgue, misty goes to her for clues in her investigations.

✧₊⁺ went crazy without Mari anyways, periodically hallucinates her on the faces of the people she embalms

✧₊⁺ in and out of jail

✧₊⁺ insanely paranoid, still lives in her childhood home

✧₊⁺ people are still scared of her, calling her clinically insane

what are some healthy marishauna headcanons you have? not pre-crash, post-crash, anything — just them existing and loving each other as who they are. how does that look to you?

• mutual jealousy, but not in a suffocating way. struggling with it when the other gets attention from other people, expressing it in a way that’s almost endearing and dismissing the concern

• mari very much gives the type of person who loves having pictures of herself, and we know shauna to collect and take lots of photos. they’re plastered all over each other’s walls

• sharing a music taste. they’ll each poke fun at the other’s taste, but vibe with it regardless. maybe in the wilderness shauna will keep track of her own favorite lyrics/songs and mari’s too and they’ll create playlists for when they get back together

• they love being close to the other. like, literally. sitting close, sleeping close, just being close in general. it’s not really a big problem when one of them wants alone time because they have lives outside of each other

• knowing and verbalizing what the other is thinking, being able to read each other’s eyes easily

I do not play about Jackie being a lesbian who experiences severe compulsory heterosexuality. That is 100% canon to me. She looks absolutely miserable when Jeff asks her to go down on him, she finds every excuse to avoid having sex with him, and when she finally does have sex with a man it’s when she’s passively suicidal, no longer believes in love, and wants to lash out against Shauna. The catalyst for Jackie’s despair and complete loss of hope is discovering Shauna’s betrayal, and when she learns that Shauna and Jeff slept together, her devastation is focused solely on Shauna.

Any time Jackie is with a man it feels like self-punishment or destruction. It’s something she’s doing to herself, not for herself. She is a character suffocated by expectations of perfection and social influence, forced to perform a version of femininity and romance that doesn’t actually fit her. Jackie as a closeted lesbian makes so much sense for her story and her tragic end. Those slumber party make outs were definitely happening.
