alrighty so

my temperature has not returned to normal. I guess it's not technically a fever at 37.1-37.3ish (98.8-99.1) but because MY temperature is closer to like 36.4ish/97.5ish, it's uh, noticeably elevated

monday night into tuesday was pretty awful. my whole body was achey and it was really hard to sleep. I tried ibuprofen in the morning and finally was able to pass out for a bit. my throat was sooo sore and the pain radiated to my ears so each time I swallowed, All Of It hurt

negative on home tests for covid and flu a/b

doc said it's probably viral

since wednesday my temp has remained about the same, in the weird gray area of better-but-not-normal so I assume it means my body is still fighting

since thursday I've been hoarse and sound hilariously awful when I try to talk. newest symptom is a cough, sometimes with a lil throat tingle that triggers a multi-minute cough attack

thankfully my company let me work from home the last couple of days!!! I took time off too but like....gosh I'm not gonna be allowed to keep working remotely, and I'm also screwed if I use all my sick leave in the first 5 weeks of the year. aHHHHhHhhhhhhhhHHH BE WELL!! stop being sick!!!!

lol so exactly one month ago I was sick with covid. and today I've spiked a fever, got body aches, a sore throat (+ear combo) , and maybe some chills? hard to tell because it's genuinely cold inside. not much of an appetite

ahhhhhhh I haven't even done a full 2 weeks at work since returning

like this morning was "hmmm throat weird, but it happens with weather changes, dry apartments, and dust and the like" and it was like that most of the day. then evening hits and it's like a switch flipped

god while I was eating dinner I suddenly got a wave of nausea and had to stop. then I felt okay but decided to head to bed early because I'm jet lagged, exhausted from my first day back to work and have been feeling with cramps after starting my period last night

and I just keep getting these waves of nausea with twisty gut feelings and it feels awful and weird and I feel so sick and what the hell is happening??

so after about 6 hours, we got home from the ER

the good news is that the ct scan didn't show any obvious issues with my dad's organs. also no blood clots, which were a concern

the bad news is that that means there isn't any clarity on what is causing these symptoms. also my dad is marked as a moderate risk for heart-related issues, so that combined with his symptoms means he should undergo additional checks ASAP

there is a sort of program (??) that, in semi-emergency cases, will help you find an appointment within 48 hours. so he's doing that, as the doctor strongly recommended it, with the asterisk to come back immediately if things worsen or change

he's been given a painkiller to help with that side of things and said his pain has gone down from a 10 to a 5 or 6 so that is good I guess. I just hope they can get him an appointment quickly because things went from 0 to 100 today whic his like ??? wtf is going on

last couple of days were good, finally able to go do things and catch up with a friend. but geez, what a way to start the year

woke up with a hellish migraine that had me feeling sick and stuck in bed for much of the day. dad is now consistently testing negative and so it's the first day we are eating together as a family again

but at dinner he revealed he's been experiencing a sharp pain that's increasing in intensity throughout the day, paired with breathing problems. mom has just taken him to the ER and I'm trying to get the house in order and also get myself ready to join them
