another day, another universe.
it was good experience, that’s what she told herself. after all, gwen was learning all sorts of new skills by travelling so much. of course, it was MORE THAN THAT. she also just loved the excitement of being able to move about - new universes. who didn’t want to learn more on that subject?
and it was just INCREDIBLE how many superheroes were in other universes. in hers? well, there was herself, SPIDER-WOMAN. and captain america. that was it…
she swung a little higher, gaining lift and speed before letting go off the webbing and dropping down onto the top of a building. things were quiet, wherever this was. where there superheroes here? how were they treated? not every universe treated their superheroes kindly. in fact… well, some places HATED heroes. hard to say what it was going to be like there - she’d not been around long. not even a day. but it looked like she wouldn’t have to wait long. there was bug boy, swinging her way. every universe had it’s SPIDER-MAN. like a world couldn’t function without him. maybe he’d see her, maybe not, but she watched him curiously enough anyways. …was that a little stalkerish?
Out on a nightly patrol, it was only routine to see something amiss. After all, this was QUEENS, his hometown. Dirty and mismanaged as it may be, it was the small portion of New York he got to call his own. And it was under his protection in a state practically run by other heroes.
Which was why he found it so odd to see the familiar stretch of spandex swinging through his night sky. Too many possibilities ran through his mind at once. Another hero? A villain? Or some lunatic thinking they could jump from roof-top to roof-top without injury? Either way, he considered it his responsibility to investigate the matter.
“Not to sound rude or anything?” he announced, stepping onto the roof and eyeing the spider-like designs of the other’s suit. “But the spider gimmick is already sort of my thing”
