As I've been practicing makeup and trying to figure out what my go to look is I've realized that something about my lips just does not get along with bold or bright lipsticks. In the conversation of lipgloss vs lipstick I am a gloss girl through and through. I've always admired the "french look" of tousled hair and flush red lip but each of my attempts at that look ends with me giving clown rather than parisian pretty girl.

Is love a feeling that possesses us? Is it something we must resist? Something to succumb to? Something inevitable?

To me it is all but most importantly it is choice love is an action

When it comes to self love I think what actually helped me go from utterly loathing my whole being, to finding myself tolerable, to now beginning to enjoy my own company was dating and befriending myself. We all like people who are nice to us, who are reliable, who are interested, and who are loving. First, I had to realize there was a relationship with myself other than being myself. Then, I realized I had to treat this relationship like any other.

today I took myself out on a date! I got myself dolled up and started the day with a sweet and creamy latte. I sat down at a nearby park and took a few hours to journal and read (current read The song of Solomon by Toni Morrison! Give me some recs <3) Then I headed to the craft store to pick up some paint supplies. The walls in my room are terrible bare and I wanted to create some artwork to dress them up. Lastly, I've been seeing all these cute little fruit shaped desserts and since I'm lucky to live near a place that makes them I had to give them a try. I think for my next date I'll take some snacks and my paint supplies and take myself down to the beach. I'm quite the beach girl and hang their often so some watercolor by the water is totally my vibe.

My dad liked to say that if you’re bored you’re boring. Lowkey harsh but it some ways true? How do we go from boring to not boring. For me the answer is curiosity ✨ when you are interested in the world you become interesting. See the beauty in all the little things and life will see it back in you 🌸

there are so many little curiosities floating about in my head. I think i’ll forever be a learner because there’s just too many cool things.
