━━ 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 .
𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒙𝒊𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒔 : 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆 , 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 , 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒓 .
XIPHOS was supposed to be a sanctuary: we were meant to find safety and new beginnings amidst its frozen landscapes . it was supposed to be the answer , our reason . but now , with the corpses of those trying to secure us a future decorating its frigid wasteland , we’re coming to the horrifying realization that xiphos never was the answer .
because we don’t deserve an answer , nor a hope , or a truth . we never were meant to tread these lands , and it’s never gonna let us forget that so long as we live .
because xiphos isn’t a sanctuary , no . it’s a graveyard .
𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐮𝐧 :
the highest mountain in all of xiphos , mount kunlun stands at an impressive 32,054 elevation and is host to the sprawling cave systems of the crimson caves , which successfully twist and turn all throughout and under mount kunlun . though the cave systems aren’t the only thing mount kunlun is host to .
𝐳𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 :
buried deep in the peaks of mount kunlun , zhishan station was home to and the final resting place for alpha team . the station was funded by the CNSA and is a state of the art modern building even though the construction time was somewhat rushed . zhishan station stands as the first man - made structure on xiphos , though we weren’t exactly counting on it also being one of the last .
𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐮 :
just south - west of zhishan station , lake mazu is tucked into an enormous crater that has carved itself inside the heart of the yaochi mountain range . from its bottomless blue waters , thick chunks of floating ice , and thick clouds of fog rolling endlessly over it’s calm waters , lake mazu certainly is a sight to behold . just don’t walk too close to the waters edge at night , we wouldn’t want you falling in . because who knows if you’d be able to get out .
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬 :
not much is known about these caves except for they are unending , both in length and in numbers . it seems as if new tunnels pop up everyday and that no matter how long you follow a tunnel , you seemingly make no progress . strange .
𝐲𝐚𝐨 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐢 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 :
east of zhishan station is yao guai coast which feeds into the luduan sea . the yao guai coast is characterized by it’s sheer cliffs and it’s overwhelming silence . it feels as if the ice sings to you at the coastline , the rocks that stick up sharply from the sea beckon you , the waves part to let you join them in their frozen depths . people always stay far longer here than they mean too , but that’s okay . it’s always okay .
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥 :
a large white wall stands prominently and starkly far north of the zhishan station . the wall has been here long before alpha team . we don’t go near it . it’s best you don’t speak of it . you have no business doing so .
