This is a painting I did for DeviantArt for a project we worked on with DreamWorks a few years ago. The goal was to design an original dragon species that could live in the world of How to Train Your Dragon! I call this dragon the Baa Bandit Known as the “dragon in sheep’s clothing” the Baa Bandit believes that by covering itself in loose wool, it cleverly disguises itself as its favorite food: the humble sheep. To get close enough to snag an unwitting sheep, Bandits often mimic their prey by joining the flock and exhibiting typical sheep behavior. Of course, not even a sheep would be fooled by the Baa Bandit’s poor attempts at camouflage but they have also recognized that the dragon isn’t much of a threat since Bandits have developed a taste for grass.
