Hi hello hi!

Through a series of research rabbit holes I found your blog (I just created a Wiz sideblog on here lol, it's @a-spiral-into-madness !) but I wanted to reach out! Ramble incoming (apologies lol)

I was looking into Wiz lore for potentially making a video essay on the timeline (I wanna research and yap about the lore in chronological order, and also add in some of my theories on the game, especially since I'm in love with the old lore and I wanna make sure to preserve the memory of the old Wizard City!) and through all that I came across your document! and HOLY WOW it's so cool!!! I'm wildly impressed by how extensive it is hehehe, the hyperfixation go brrr for real

I wanted to ask though, before I dive into the doc and end up leaning on your research for some of what I'm thinking of doing - Would it be okay if I utilized your compendium as a jumping off point or one of the sources for my research/video essay thing? (I did a skim and you listed all the quests with timeline info!!! and that would make my life so much easier to find everything I'm looking for lol!)

Any bits would be with credit and citation of course, and if you wanted I can definitely send whatever lore video yap I make to you lol, if I ever finish it

But I wanted to ask first before I do anything, since you already seem to have put together something similar to what I was hoping to do! If not, zero worries and I completely understand - I can always sift through the wiki and stuff on my own time to find what I'm looking for :)

Time to answer a question everyone needs answered: how do sparkthrowers/guns work exactly?

I lied no one really needs this answered but I do so here you go!

In the tutorial, Boochbeard warns us of spark throwers, saying: "Careful of those sparkthrowers! They'll stun you into submission-- that's how guns work in the spiral."

Now this is probably to make the game more kid friendly but obviously I need l o r e so here are my thoughts: ->

The guns shoot sparks of electricity, but how? I personally believe it is through the use of 'lumina crystals.' These are crystals that are charged with storm magic in a mill in Triton Avenue(w101). Lumina crystals cut small, so essentially you can 'socket' them into the gun and take them out once they need to be recharged.

Now if you want a gun that doesn't need a recharge, I assume there are expensive options-- for example, a gun that is enchanted with storm magic.

Okay so everything described here doesn't need bullets, in fact bullets aren't shown due ya know kidz but then

Anyways since metal is a conductor I'm assuming maybe it's just charged?? Make bullet and spark MAKE SENSE KINGSISLE PLEASE I SWEAR-

Last but not least injuries. Since it is electricity wounds will mostly be burns, but enough electricity can kill a person.

To break it down here are symptoms and what happens during electrical shock:

• Outside Body

Can have visible burns but in some cases you look normal. For a sparkthrower, since it shoots out, I'd assume it'd be mostly burns.

• Inside Body

Moving electrical currents can cause damage to organs/stuff around them and cardiac arrest.

- Symptoms

Headache, loss of consciousness, muscle spasms, numbness/tingling, trouble breathing, vision/hearing issues, seizures, and irregular heartbeat.

<- The shock also has a chance to cause Compartment Syndrome.

Last but not least, handling. Handling a lumina crystal is probably safe as it is in a solid form, but I'd be wary if it's cracked or so.

The most important thing is to not touch the barrel while the sparkthrower is being shot or for some time after. You don't want to accidentally electrocute yourself!

So I had always imagined that Malistaire was a little older than Cyrus, maybe like, 2-3 years, but according to the wiki they’re canonically twins.

I’d seen people call them that but I thought it was a headcanon. Does anyone know where in the game that was stated because I honestly don’t remember. I only recall them being described as brothers with no other specifics.

Malistaire and Cyrus Drake are said to be twins in the following sources: Diego the Duelmaster (quest), Bad Blood (quest), and the YouTube character introduction for Cyrus Drake!

Cyrus Drake also has a pet basilisk named Deimos, which means it’s possible that Malistaire may also have a twin basilisk named Phobos ^^

I wish wizard101 would just release multiple books of its lore. It sounds like most players don’t read it anyway, so it shouldn’t affect their sales. I just really love the storyline and don’t want to rely on memory all the time to remember what’s going on.

big agree, i’ve had this project in mind for a while that will probably never get done because of the amount of work it involves. (if it were a community effort, though… that’s a different idea)

step 1: get permission from the person who wrote the spiral compenium to use their work

step 1a: compile information that they did not record (which i think is from karamelle and on?)

step 2: format it into a sort of guidebook?

step 3: print and bind

step 4: marvel at your physical copy of wiz lore
