The currency of my spirit is undeniable beauty.
I surround myself with beautiful things.
Pretty people with even prettier hearts,
Compassionate gestures and kind smiles,
Satisfying, aromatic dinners and moonlit, heaven blessed places.
Both the bloody, broken, battle-borne kind
And the soft, feathery star kissed kind.
Where was my skin was once torn by destruction
And my body was weary with the unavoidable ugliness of life,
My soul now grows fat and rich with the wonders this life has to offer,
All because I finally open my eyes
My light joining the skies I dreamt of among shattered nights,
A bright constellation of endless wishes finally coming true.
My life is steadily becoming one of peace,
Dreams trickling into reality,
Magic dancing across my fingertips
And fire nipping at my heels
Warm, inviting and ripe for the taking.
Bookshelves brimming with stories of flight and fancy,
Overcoming, surviving and living.
My life a mirror to these beautiful words,
My journey an echo of these worlds,
My heart an endless triumph in the face of darkness,
The currency of my spirit is beauty,
And I am richer than I have ever been.
Will I let my heart be poor again.
