Yoruichi let Manami get the cling-wrap onto the bowl and then set about warming it up, working the microwave rather deftly. She seemed to have no difficulty with it—she was herself estimating its power output given its size as she selected a time. She watched the curry carefully as the young woman asked her questions, just in case she was wrong.
She blinked as she felt her Aifōn vibrate partway through Manami’s questioning and produced it from the shorts she was wearing. She’d sent a text while in the bathroom earlier, as she wasn’t going to be able to properly eat as a spirit. According to it, her gigai was one minute away.
She pocketed it again and answered the young woman’s questions. “It’s rather uncommon. In the current generation, I seem to be the only one who can do it.” This rather implied that there had been others before, or perhaps even that there were others who concealed the ability, but left such matters unresolved.
“As for things like this shrine’s arrangement, I’m not aware of any other examples, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Such things were just never really part of my specialty. When it comes to humans… there are a rare few who naturally can. Most of those who can, though, have some sort of history with the supernatural.”
She popped the microwave door and pulled out the curry, setting it on the counter. “Stir this then put it back in, I’ll be right back,” she instructed. She then headed for the front door and was most of the way there by the time there was a knock on it.
Disappointing, she really hoped they weren’t the only one.
“Hmm, that makes me sad....I really hoped that you would know....But oh well, as you said; i’m sure others will pop up since they kept to themselves.”
Leaving the other to do with what she believed to be a cellphone, she watched over the cooking stew as Manami took in the words of Yoruichi. Sure, her family have a looong history with the afterlife and so; to hear that it’s rare did raise more curiosity than answers and the blonde hated it with A bloody passion. The ding of the microwave and the curry handed in hand, she see’s the other go off. Tawny brow raised and curry stirred before being popped into the microwave, she does quietly follow after, wondering who was knocking at the door. ‘ Great! An excuse to sneak and see.’ she thought as she did look through her little edge.
