Lillian's eyes went a bit wide at Elvira's statement of it having been a few months. Not wanting the other person to think she was being rude, she wiped her hands over her face with a, "Fuck. It's been a few months already?" Taking a couple deep breaths, allowing the knowledge to sit with her more, she admitted, "That does sound about right, though. Just what other plane crash survivors have had to wait a few months before being rescued?"
"Yeah, I could be wrong..." she allowed, much as she liked to know as much as she could Vira did have to admit that she did not, in fact, know everything, "the moon... when we got here it was waning crescent, it was waning crescent again twice, and now it's a new moon, so it's probably been two months and a half." she explained, "About." she clarified, not wanting to sound more sure of herself than she was.
☆゚*·゚blinking, arden tried her best to make a weird face. she knew that wrapping herself in her blanket, and taping it to her body while she walked through the woods looked silly. but in her defense, she wasn't expecting anyone to actually see her. "okay, but there are unidentifiable bugs out here and i don't know what they're going to do. this will protect me."
There was probably a lot worse than bugs out there, but if there was a worse thing to tell Arden in this particular situation Vira couldn't think of it at this moment. Instead, she went for a more practica line of conversation, "You have a point. Wonder if there's anything we can use as a bug net?" she wondered aloud, "That'll at least keep them out of where we're all sleeping better."
"Tsk-..." she shook her head, "Now, I'm going to forgive you for using the tb-words in my presence..." she took in a, slightly dramatic, breath, "... but I'm afraid when we get back to the real world, I'm making you some good tacos. That's a promise now."
"I think... something weird is happening, because I swear I can hear music?" she questioned herself as she spoke, trying not to panic she made a joke of it, "You sure you didn't bring Lucy with you or something?"
She couldn't help but allow herself a chuckle, "Your confidence in me is inspiring, you know?" she teased. Not wanting to be the asshole to leave a guy hanging she gave Will a high five, "How about you? What have you done today to make you feel proud?"
"Not quite sure whose this is, but am grateful someone packed something entertaining." It was a bit morbid to think anything beyond what she said, so she focused her gaze upon the tattered and worn out crossword puzzle book. "4 letters, Garfield's sidekick. I'm afraid I was never into comics. Care to guess?"
"I'm afraid I don't know anything about Garfield other than that he's a cat... who likes... pasta??... sorry," she hums, "...so you have another clue?" she asked, she couldn't help but feel that one was one that people from the USA were more likely to get than her, "why don't we try some of the across ones to narrow it down?"
Elvira looked at the bizarre pear-like fruit with more than a modicum of concern, it looked like a great source of water, but was it safe? "Do you think the water's clean, I'm so thirsty, but what if this plant is poisonous!?" that was the worst part of being here if you asked Vira, the uncertainty.
"So," Lillian let out a long sigh, "Do you think anyone is keeping track anymore of how long we've been here? I tried at the beginning, but I can no longer tell if it's been weeks, months, or how long," She put her head in her hands before looking back up, "Just definitely not days, it's felt like forever."
"Someone probably." Elvira shrugged, she'd stopped thinking about how long they'd been here, as far as she was concerned it wasn't helping anyone to wallow praying for some nebulous salvation. Strange as it may be, life here had become a new normal. "I think it's been a few months at least, I'm not really sure how many though."
"Yes, actually..." she blinked heavily a few times, "Do you think it's that bird thing? I swear I heard of a... sh-... a sleepy... like bird?" she tried to explain.
"I mean, you're entitled to your beliefs," she admits, "but like... dinosaurs existing is so much cooler than them not. They're like flightless dragons, that's just cool."
