All for Him! 👆 I thank the Lord for everything He has bestowed upon me. In this very special day, he gave me a gift I would forever treasure, a medal for my hard work. I didn’t expect to win a medal especially because it is a competition where all the best swimmers compete in. Getting a medal or two is a very great achievement and I can’t help but smile and be proud of what I had accomplished, but of course I know that the Lord gave me the strength and courage to do it. I worked hard and concentrated on my trainings so that my coach will be proud of me and the team. I also believe that the unending support of my coach was with the help of God. Sometimes, I would just smile and say “I know that was you, Lord. Thanks!”

There are times when you reach your breaking point, and you feel like giving up simply because you don't see the need to keep going on—when you feel hopeless. Sometimes you ask God, "what did I do to deserve this hardships, these problems? Why?" But if you look at the bigger picture, you will see that God has not—and has never—abandoned you. He may have something even better planned out for you. They say that God's answers are better than your prayers. During my batch's sportsfest, there were many times in which we felt no more need to keep practicing because we thought we knew we would have no chance of winning. But we prayed. We tried again. And again. We practiced. And practiced harder. Until we placed as the first runners-up in the cheerdance competition. God sends us these little trials of faith—not to drag us down, but to strengthen our walls and climb higher to success. All we need is some faith. The sky's the limit.

Since I was young, my parents have encouraged me by saying that I was talented, so they sent me off to kumon. I hated it there. They always gave me headaches and hard problems that I could never answer right. I hated being so ‘different’ from others in school until I realized how big a favor it was giving me and how much easier it made my school life. God was helping me, in the form of my parents and that made me have faith, faith in myself, and faith that God was right beside me the whole time. This enlightened me to do my best in everything, including kumon, where I succeeded and earned myself an award.
