At first I was like "no this isn't accurate" but the more I read through it I was like "ope yeah, that's accurate"

Main things that are inaccurate; mind reading export, go-to person for arranging friend get togethers, and rarely get angry, I'm not sure about the diligent and consistency one though

(not just adhd and autism)

i have seen so many *queer people* make those kinds of jokes and justifying it by going "i was like that in 2020 lol werent we so cringe and stupid back then"

i was an ass in 2020 and i said and did a lot of things i now regret, now that im older and have slightly more experience

not a single one of those things was because i used a weird name or weird pronouns or had weird interests or got upset over weird things.

my name is soot. i use they/it pronouns. i draw furry art and anime art and vent art. i write dramatic poetry about my life. i write self insert fanfiction. i talk too fast and stutter and mumble and flap my hands and rock back and forth and twitch and move my limbs weird. i repeat things out loud. i make strange noises when im happy or excited or bored or upset. i watch kids cartoons on repeat. i feel younger than i am sometimes as a way my brain copes with the world. my identity is complicated and doesnt make sense to a lot of people. i feel like my world is ending if someone talks about a piece of media i used to love. i am too loud and too quiet and too much.

and god fucking damn you i am proud of it. i am weird and cringe and strange and i am so free for it. i have so many things that i love. im cringe and i am happy.

i understand that for a lot of people its hard to kill the part of you that cringes. it was hard for me. but please, please keep trying. please admit to yourself that even though your first reaction may be to cringe- that in reality, if something isnt doing anyone any harm, there honestly, truly, is nothing wrong.

this is a love letter to everyone who is weird. keep living. keep existing unapologetically. i love you.

sorry if i'm gonna be quiet for a while. my country recently introduced laws that make it so that in order to use social media to the fullest (not being able to view ns/fw content and in a few cases, not even having access to dms), i HAVE to give the sites my id/face scan.

it goes into effect july 25th. it'll probably effect here too, since this place allows mature content (tho not full on ns/fw)

i'm very distressed about it bc i might end up not even being able to talk to my internet friends. i don't really have any irl ones

if i have to disappear on most socials by then, you know why.

if you're in the uk like i am there IS a petition to sign on the official gov petitions website asking to consider repealing this law. it currently has almost 8k signatures and needs 10k in order for the government to even acknowledge it (and 100k for them to debate it)

idk if i can post it here but please... go sign it! and go write to your local mp if possible. they need to realize how dangerous this law is going to be for uk citizens online. it doesn't protect children, it's just privacy invading AND a huge security risk to boot
