The association is a CoOp where Canadian wool producers can send their wool to to be graded and sold on the market. #firstdayofspring is today’s #ooakdiaries challenge. This was technically from two nights ago, but we enjoyed a wee break from show prep to walk in the sun thru our local park. This is only our second spring in AB and I’ve never appreciated spring the way I do now after what felt like forever of -30 weather it is so nice to enjoy +17. Growing up in BC and spending years living on the coast I’ve never experienced the extremes from winter to spring and I have a whole new appreciation for spring. Today’s #ooakday so I thought I’d take this moment to introduce us and our company to new followers 😀 Our little Family is Mike,Jamie and Bean. Mike and Jamie have been partners in life for almost 22 years and in business for 6 years. We’ve always been creative and concerned about environmentalism and localism. After the birth of Bean we created Splat And Co as a way to share our creative outlets and create a life where we could be home while raising Bean and providing products that were free of chemicals and made a minimal impact on the environment. From the beginning it was important for us to source our materials locally and ethically. We sourced out a family run mill who uses many environmental initiatives as well as using ethically sourced wool and they support our local farmers and staff their mill with amazing locals.
