Hi anon - I was able to find this one, which is specifically a gender. But if you're looking for an identity flag outside of that, just send us another ask! We're not really experienced with making identity terms outside of genders, but hopefully some Agent 8 to Agent 8 communication will help heheh 🤝🏽🐙

My name is Space - I'm a fictive from Splatoon 2, particularly influenced by Octo Expansion plot points and sensibilities. My life as an Octoling was not an easy one, but I have many complex feelings about this situation, and one major aspect of my complication is due to my gender. See, I was sanitized - and this affected me deeply in a way anyone has yet to describe.
I identify as Gendermutate and Sanitix, mainly. This is because I was sanitized - that is, the act of entirely "cleansing" someone of personhood and life itself, leaving an impressionable husk in their place. When one is sanitized, their free will often leaves them - they are the perfect soldiers, the perfect pawns. Akin to zombies in every way but physically rotten. As you can imagine, this was ideal for the totalitarian government we lived under, and helpful to Commander Tartar as well for his perfect army. Had the Inklings not stepped in, we would all be dead. Some didn't make it. Regardless, sanitization is a nightmarish experience that most don't come out of, but many were propaganda-driven into administering. "Freedom from thought and self" is not all that it seems.
I had never cared much about gender, ever since I was small - most Octolings (humanoid Octarians) were female, so gender didn't come up very often. We were all administered into the army. When is one to think about gender when they're training to fight? Regardless, I knew I was different than how some others displayed their selves. I didn't think about it much, then- but with terms nowadays, I may have used the term "nonbinary" - possibly even Gendervoid, though my gender felt a little more "full" than that. I breathed with the machines, the spiritual connection between the underground and the space above. That was my gender, a long time ago.
Then, not to be dramatic, but everything changed. My infantry leader was a smart and strong woman, but subjective to the propaganda we were all forced to live by. When word of sanitization got around, she jumped at the opportunity, seeing it as a way to make us all better for the Octarian army. I don't hate her for it. She was a victim just as the rest of us - but she signed us all up for sanitization nonetheless. The process was painful - feeling your cells adapt to decay and death never wouldn't sting. And then... I blacked out. Mostly. Caught between life and death, I became nothing but an empty shell. My memory fragmented and my personality shattered.
When I woke up, I wasn't the same. Somewhere along the line, Agent 8 had gotten the Inklings to start a restoration act for the sanitized, and I was one of the first ones to be brought back. I couldn't remember much, if at all, and I had lost a significant amount of time - how much, I couldn't tell. I had changed a lot, but most influentially, my gender had changed drastically. I can now confidently say I'm gendervoid - there is an absence of gender, a hole where something should be. Sanitix references ones' gender having changed due to being sanitized, but it's more than that - I feel the cleansing down to my very soul. It's in my body, in my mind, and in my amorphous bones. The sanitization is a part of my being, even after it had been removed from me. I can feel it permeating my chest, soaked into me like nothing else. It's obvious how "gendermutate" plays into this - my gender has been irreversibly mutated. Even in this life, my gender is altered - I can still feel it very deeply. Sanitization is being scrubbed of "imperfection" until there is nothing left. This imperfection included my gender I identified as. It replaced it with the cold, the clean, the distilled and thereby empty. The sanitized.
I can still breathe with the machines. I can still feel the spiritual connection between the underground and the space above. But it's not a part of me intrinsically as it once was. It feels empty, void even. It feels scrubbed clean, thanks to the sanitization deep within me. I wonder how many lives I will carry this with me - and yet, I still find myself seeing it as a part of me. I don't regret it, honestly. It's a part of me. It is me. And I'm proud of that, regardless of where it comes from.
