Anyways, this is the place where any and all Splattertale content will be archived, and where the story will be finally told once itās fully finished š?
You can also ask any questions that you have about ST here! Well, you can also do that on my main blog, but Iād encourage it here a teeny bit more (Iāll be putting the answers here anyway lmao).
Hi Shay, I have a few questions that have been on my mind.Who is Splatter's real family? I mean, before Ink found him...and what happened when Ink found Splatter?Sorry if the questions confused you š
Ah this is a very crucial plot element! (And donāt worry, the question wasnāt confusing at all :3)
See, Iāve been hesitant to share a lot of this sort information in the past because I wanted it to be properly revealed in the massive lore post I have in the works, but Iāve been procrastinating on that to hell and back š, so I might as well give the people what theyāre asking for already!
To FINALLY answer your question, Splatter, actually didnāt have any family before Ink! Well, unless you count a certain royal scientist? š (but I donāt think sheād count him)
She was artificially created in a lab, in an experiment to make a sort of human-monster hybrid. Bodily and magically a monster, but with the SOUL and DETERMINATION of a human. Her DT is very low for human standards though, as it had been previously extracted from the SOUL that would become her.
Ink ended up with her because the universe was destroyed (geeā¦ I wonder who would do such a thing. Certainly not a certain glitchy character who has it out for the utter anomaly that is Splatter š). Heā¦ didnāt actually know that he saved a child specifically until he arrived back at the Doodlesphere, just assuming her to be some nebulous important item that contained most of the AUās creativity (his vision was momentarily impaired, cut him some slack š).
When he DID realize that āoh shit thatās a BABYā, he panicked and tried to think of what to do. Which ultimately ended up being to contact Dream and Blue to see if they could take her to the Omega Timeline (Ink is banned from the OT in this multiverse š).
But, as you can probably tell, things didnāt quite go as planned š
There are still some things I left out of this explanation which will be expanded upon at a later date, like the reason why Splatter was created, and why Error chose to destroy her universe specifically in that moment. But rest assured! All will be revealed in due time!
Heās a side character who doesnāt really play a huge role in the main plot but is still there and is present to a degree in Splatterās life.
Fresh acts as a babysitter for Splatter whenever the Star Sanses, Inkās Dads, AND Cross are all unavailable. Donāt worry he plays nice with her (sheās not a very suitable host, and if he hurts her then his friendship with Ink would be in jeopardy. Being friends with the Protector kinda grants you more chances of survival). Splatter just sees him as a bit weird.
He gave her replicas of his sunglasses when she was a baby (does not know how to give small children gifts). The letters canāt change on the replicas.
WAUGH I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS PIECE INK BC I SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON IT (despite forgoing lineart in an attempt to make things easier for myself š)

Anyways, some silly tidbits about this piece
The different papers donāt represent AUs, but fanart and fanfic thatās been produced by the fandom! The very thing that keeps Ink going!
I snuck in a couple subtle references to a few Ink-centric fics that I hear are pretty good š. Look for the initials
Thereās a couple classic UT references in here as well, golden flower, save star (behind the text) and a doodle of the human and monster from the intro cutscene!
Also you can probably notice the silly cameo of Acrylic from my friendās AU, Hexverse!
The final paper Ink is holding, the rainbow heart doodle, sorta represents the idea that art, creativity, the fandom itself is their āsoulā, and also it signifies the love weāve given to this super cool character! <3

I actually do have some designs for AU Splatters I have yet to showcase (mainly forā¦ spoiler reasons)! Oceantale might not be a bad choice to add to the roster š
My first idea when thinking about an oceantale Splatter is some kind of mermaid, or at the very least replacing her furry mammalian features with aquatic ones. Though that might be too basic and obviousš

Basically the TLDR is itās a story about Ink adopting an OC I made named Splatter (and them being a good father/daughter duo alongside the other two Star Sanses). Itās not an individual AU itās just the name of the story
Breaking all UTMV naming conventions, I know. If itās any consolation I refer to the multiverse the story takes place in as the āSplatterverseā
