Visual novel/RPG hybrid with lots and lots of non-standard game overs whose gimmick is that continuing from the same save file after getting a game over causes the player character to permanently acquire a new, typically troublesome trait reflecting the remembered trauma. The game autosaves, naturally, so this can't be fixed without save file manipulation. The RPG side of play is fairly straightforward if you never lose, but as bad endings accumulate (and some of them are functionally impossible to avoid without prior knowledge), it gradually develops into a disguised puzzle game where the challenge is finding a solution to the problem at hand that doesn't bump into any action or circumstance your accumulated trauma forbids.
Now, the real trick is that the final boss has a psychic attack that's seemingly impossible to survive and triggers a bad ending you don't come back from. An astute player may, however, notice that the mind-warping visions induced by this attack always correspond to a type of trauma associated with a bad ending which has not been received in the current playthrough. The only way to get the "good" ending is to ensure that every possible bad ending, even the seemingly mutually exclusive ones, has been experienced on the current save file. If you manage to satisfy this condition, the protagonist just goes "wait, that's it?" and totally no-sells the psychic attack because it can't find anything to inflict on them that hasn't been done already.

My interpretation of what a great fairy in the Twilight Realm would look like.
I used the physical features of the Cave of Ordeals fairy as a base, but made her gigantic. I inverted her colors and added glowing patterns referencing Gustav Klimt's golden paintings. My goal was to capture the same glamor as the OoT/MM great fairies.
If this great fairy was in a game, I imagine she could upgrade Link's wolf form, such as granting new attack moves, allow multi-targeting without Midna, heightened wolf sense, etc.

By the grace of God I managed to push this one out. Here’s your lore for today. Well, it’s not really lore. More of a thing? Idk.
The fragments of light and stuff Link sees is a result of his attunement to fairy magic. It will be relevant later and in effect, is the “game spanning collectible” for this story. See y’all next time, stay frosty.

The brainstorming process for the next dungeon is almost entirely finished. The enemies within are all good. Now just for the dungeon itself.
As for the next chapter, I have the idea for it in my head. Just about putting pen to paper and writing it all. Definitely not getting done this week. But next week it will be dropped. If I work my ass off over the weekend, it's definitely getting posted then. Otherwise, the latest it will be posted is next Wednesday.

Never call me a liar, because here’s the latest chapter and a bit of extra lore to boot
Let’s talk magic. Most people in Hyrule don’t naturally have magic anymore, that’s a relic of the old times and now the ability is passed down through families.
This might lead to confusion on how all current knights wield magic power, but keep in mind that Link isn’t the norm. They’re usually tested extensively to see if they have magic power potential through family lineage. Link’s an oddball in the sense that he had the lineage for magic, but none was expressed until he managed to get to the fountain. Perhaps they’re removing mental blocks that closed off his channels?
Anyways, with knights in particular it’s different. Other magic users have one pool of magic that they draw from, but the knights have three. These are separate pools they can draw from to enhance each of their sword styles, and has the benefit of making it so they don’t pass out when their reserves are emptied. Instead, they go into a state of recharge and can get topped off again.
Usually, the magic user would be recharging whilst unconscious, but they’re knights. They’re expected to keep on fighting.
Magic in this world is “elemental”. You’ve got your fire and your earth all wrapped into fire which is used by a few Gorons, ice and water all wrapped into ice for your Zora, wind and flora wrapped into forest which the Kokiri used to use but now is used in limited effect by Hylians, shadow magic for the Sheikah, light magic is used by nobility and Nayru’s Mage (more on them in a bit) and Spirit magic used by the Gerudo.
Assorted magics anyone can use based on their understanding include long distance conversation and travel, along with shields and seals.
Specifics on “special individuals”
Nayru’s Mage is considered the pinnacle of mages in Hyrule and they work under the Royal Family of Hyrule. They’re able to use all forms of magic and have vast reserves.
Due to their bloodline, the Royal Family of Hyrule can get visions of the future and prophesy.
The leader of the Gerudo is able to use both ice and fire magic, and a secret form of magic only passed from leader to leader is electricity. It’s extremely powerful and difficult to grasp for normal mages
The Zora are adept healers by combining both the natures of ice and magic to locate and bind together wounds, both physical and mental
The most esoteric form of magic, lost to the ages is music. It seemingly can do anything, but no one in current history has been able to even mimic a fraction of what music used to be able to do in Hyrule.

Each race in this series has a specific goddess they worship.
Hylians obviously worship Hylia
The Gerudo worship Din and take her aspect of power and interpret as power over death. She’s their death goddess!
The Zora have respect for Nayru and treat the dragon as her emissary
The Gorons really don’t do the worship thing. They acknowledge the goddesses but pay their respects to the spirits that they spread across the land, with a focus on the “Spirit of the Mountain”
Ikana, which used to be considered part of Hyrule until the Garo caused the destruction of her people, worshiped all three.
The Garo worship the emptiness of creation. They erroneously conflate it to a god of destruction, but that’s a symptom of that entity, not their main cause.
And lastly, the Kokiri used to worship Farore. Used to being the operative term, as the Kokiri also used to exist.

He was a knight from a noble family, and during a skirmish with Labrynnan forces (yes, Holodrum and Labrynna exists and border Hyrule) he was the one who took out their leader, but sustained heavy damage
This had him go out of combat honorably, and get a boon granted to him by the royal family. He simply wished to continue his work, so he was assigned to then Princess Mira’s guard detail. As time went on, they grew to love one another, blah blah sappy shit you can put the details together and after a helluva fight with her parents, eventually married the guy.

On a roll with the parent posting so we’ll go into the Royal Family of Hyrule. Maternally, at least.
Queens of Hyrule have the majority power, with births reflecting that in a 70-30 split of children born to the royal couple being female. Within the annals of history, every woman carries the name Zelda, but written down are sobriquets. These are earned through their respective deeds
The current queen is referred to as Mira. She managed to broker a tenebrous peace between Hyrule and the Gerudo after years of threats from each side. The Peacekeeper, Mira.

Let’s talk about their dad now, Idall. He was a fairly burly barkeep who managed to sway Minnela’s heart and settled down with her, and is the previous owner of Link’s current cloak. As for where he got it, perhaps from adventuring as a young lad? You’ll have to read on to find out…
