After a long, arduous battle with depression, I can honestly say that I am okay. I have the human ups and downs. I am far from perfect, yet, perfect in my own way. I have days where I cry, days where my laughter brings tears. I have days where I’m angry with myself but also days where I’m angry with others but it is always followed by a wave of forgiveness.
In the wake of this battle with depression, I see the damage. I feel it. I see dead relationships all around me, the blood shed from all the hatred and pain. I see abandonment and wounds that are so deep that one may never know if it will heal. It reminds me that I have won the battle, but not the war.
But winning this battle was a damn good start.
Therapist: I believe you said that your childhood experience was satisfactory?
Todoroki: No, you misheard me. I said it was a “sadness factory”.

Illuminate/By fire
We get a darkish room.
You have your little lights which you bought online.
We place it on the table and light it up.
One of us sits lights up the cigarette
Just the tip of the nose until the collarbones is captured by the flame.
The lights look blurry in your background
Resembling fire
Crazy talk and lazy laughs echo
Against the dark/light room
We catch our feelings and lay it out on the little table
