The way people talk abt Barbara gordon, u’d think she is this insignificant character with no complexities whatsoever but like read any popular batman storyline and you’d find her one of the main characters and for good reasons since she literally carries their batfam’s whole operation on her back and helps other heroes as well.

hi guys...i've been in residential ED treatment for the last few weeks lmao. i'd been working on chapter 8 before i was admitted and haven't had much time to keep working, but since i'm finally starting to feel better physically and mentally i'm hoping to get back into writing soon and hopefully finish the chapter :) i've got the bones of it, i just need to fill it out a little more (it's at 5.4k words right now). here's a little bit of it, though, to make up for the wait!!
And then Conner stops short, his breath hitching slightly. Across the room, engaged in conversation with his older brother, is Tim. Tim, who Conner hasn’t seen since that night at the club but has spent every day thinking about. Talk about whipped.
He’s not sure what to do. Try and make eye contact from over here? Walk over and actually say hi? Wait the entire night and hope Tim approaches him first?
Definitely not that last one.
Conner bounces just slightly on the balls of his feet, trying to will his palms from sweating. Someone walks by with a tray of glasses and he grabs one without even checking to see what it is, then promptly downs half of it in one gulp. White wine. Ew.
He catches sight of his father chatting with some CEO he doesn’t know. To his left he sees a man he recognizes as Oliver Queen laughing loudly with a woman who looks vaguely familiar. And when Conner looks back towards Tim, he sees that Dick has walked away, and Tim is—wait, Tim is looking right back at him.
Oliver’s laughter falls silent to Conner’s ears. He locks eyes with Tim, unsure of how to proceed. And then, almost imperceptibly, Tim nods. Conner stares, not sure if he’s seeing things right. But then Tim raises his eyebrows, and Conner knows his eyes aren’t deceiving him.
He moves forward cautiously, weaving his way through the stuffy corporate suits around him. Tim’s gaze doesn’t leave his the entire time, and Conner can feel himself heating up from the intensity.
And then suddenly they’re standing right in front of each other, Tim Wayne in the flesh and not just in a photo on Conner’s screen. Looking…decidedly less perky than the last time Conner saw him. Which isn’t really the right word, because Tim isn’t exactly perky in general, but it’s the only one that Conner can think of. Tim is pale as fuck, his eyes rimmed with dark circles. And maybe Conner’s imagining it, but the guy looks a little thinner than he remembers.
“Hey,” Conner says. What the fuck else is he supposed to say?
“Hey,” Tim echoes, his voice breathy. Sexy. “I, uh…didn’t expect you to be here.”
