I am embarrassed and ashamed when people in my life use my preferred pronouns in front of strangers or acquaintances or like any cis person ever. I feel like a fraud and like this big sign is around my neck pointing to every part of me and saying GIRL in big letters. People will politely oblige sometimes and use my pronouns but their eyes are always wandering over me and I just become an embarrassment. I know that I shouldn't feel ashamed because I don't think it's wrong for other people to look or identify in any way and use any kinds of pronouns because of or inspite of that, but I hate being noticed and I hate that people don't understand and I hate feeling anxious and unsafe because someone I love is using my pronouns
