I always say the essence of divine art as a part of the Narrator in its purest least disguised form. The Narrator is of course kind of obsessed with art (he's an artist) but a lot of the time he is insecure or hates his art, he's always thinking of the critics and the industry and such. The essence of divine art is just his naked vulnerable love of making art (even if it's not very good art). And of course it tells Stanley/The Playerit loves him because they've become part of his art too. Idk just my thoughts
