Fic Update: Chapter 5 of Fence Sitting

"Jazz was surprised to find himself... grateful, for this fact, because Glaciea III was completely covered in snow. There were enormous drifts of it all over the landing pathway, in an abundance nearly unheard of for Cybertron. There was little water or natural oil on the planet, and what little there was of it kept to the far west and north of the globe. Iacon hadn’t seen precipitation—nevertheless snow!—for centuries.
He rushed down the exit hatch and onto the airfield, brushing past Sentinel without a care in the world.
“You’ve not scanned the area for threats yet!” Sentinel called after Jazz peevishly, as the much older mech performed a cartwheel directly into a snowbank.
“In this weather? I’d hear them, if there were any!”
They’d be lucky if there was a single person, friendly or otherwise, within a radius of three miles.
“Not if they can fly…” Sentinel grumbled as he trudged past Jazz, down the opposite end of the runway. A pane of light refracted across Jazz’s visor mischievously as a hulking mass of back kibble came into his direct line of sight.
A target that big was practically begging to get hit! No one sensible turned their back on a ninja, anyways; everyone should’ve learned that in Academy 101. Jazz collected a dense clod of snow in his servos, not even bothering to shape it properly before launching it at Sentinel.
“What?” Sentinel whipped around, highly offended and taken aback. “What are you doing?”
“Clearly… you didn’t scan the area for this threat!” Jazz lobbed him right in the face, that time.
“You— y-you act like such a cadet, sometimes!” Sentinel blustered. “I’d have you t-taken off the guard track, for that stunt alone!”
Jazz whacked him in the pauldron-guard with another snowball.
“Oh, but that’s why your graduation rate was so terrible, Captain! You can’t take a little snow? I’d hate to see you with a real problem cadet…”
