The ABCDE Method: Accomplish Tasks more Efficiently
I recently came across the ABCDE method thatās similar to what I do to stay productive each day: instead of lumping up all your tasks, sort them into categories and tackle each of them differently. Hereās an outline of the method. Hope it helps :)
im majoring in making my life a living hell at idiot university
because ppl are always pressed about the books facing the wrong way, hereās a new monstrosity joining in; the reverse side of a canvas (ācause I pretty much gave up on the thing I was painting on it lol)

100 days of productivity | day 1
Hi everyone!
I've been following the studyblr community for a while and I don't exactly have a studyblr, but I really wanted to join the 100 days of productivity challenge, and I think I need a place to keep track of my daily achievements so I made this tumblr. Is a requirement to have a studyblr to join?
I don't think this one will be a studyblr though since, for now, I will only be tracking my progress this way (with those screenshots). BUT I'm a first yearĀ medical studentĀ and I'm starting first year ofĀ engineering next year, so most of my daily activities are study related. So maybe it will be? I don't know, you be the judge.
Anyway, for now I just want to focus on the things I REALLY need to get done, and I have a very long list of goals. And surely later I will start taking pictures of my notes, my desk and stuff like that.
Also, I will be tracking other things that I really need to do better/more often like eatĀ healthier, takeĀ care of my skin, be more active, etc.
So, the screenshot on the left is a list of the things I need to get done today. I'm starting ridiculously late (or early) because I'm sick, felt terrible the entire day and slept the entire day because of that. So tonight I'm definitely not going to be able to sleep, and I'm feeling better, so I better start now. It's in Spanish because that's my first language. It says:
Finish introduction
Do problems/exercises
Revise linear and quadratic functions
Wash hair
Shower
Wish me luck!
UPDATE: I'm feeling really sick, so I think I chose the wrong day to start. I did finish the introduction, showered and washed my hair, but that was it. Spent the rest of the day on bed. Maybe tomorrow...

34/100 days of productivity
a bad anxiety day today, with my final manuscript deadline tonight. i managed to get it in early so i can spend lots of time relaxing tonightĀ
9:36 am, 09.28.2019 / visited the cutest little stationary store yesterday and iāll definitely be going again. happy saturday!
The most valuable thing I learned doing a Masters degree with depression, anxiety and ADHD was to change my āthings Iām bad atā list to āthings I canāt do on my own.ā Stop thinking of them as things I could do if I tried hard enough, and accept that I canāt accomplish them by effort and willpower alone; theyāre genuine neurocognitive deficits, and if I need to do the thing, then just like a blind person reading or a mobility impaired person going up a storey in a building, I need to find a different method.
Iām ābad atā working on long-term projects without an imminent deadline or someone breathing down my neck? Okay, letās change that: I canāt work on long-term projects without an imminent deadline and someone breathing down my neck. So letās create an imminent deadline and recruit neck-breathers. Find a sympathetic prof who will agree that 3 weeks before the due date they expect me to show them my preliminary notes and bibliography. Get a friend I trust to block off an hour to sit with me and keep asking, āAre you working on your project?ā Write a blog post about my progress. Arrange to trade papers and proofread them with another student.
Accept your limitations and learn to leverage them, instead of buying the neurotypical fairytale that theyāll go away if you just try hard enough.
My newly organized desk is making me really happy!
January 21st, 2017
Current desk situation: organic chem notes from last year, current notes, overflowing binder of things to do (including a grant proposal due in a few months????), biochem and chem textbook that I neglected until too late (do yourself a favour and donāt fall behind on readings). Not seen in this picture: post-lab reports that I havenāt finished because I have a biochem midterm in a few days, my personal lab notebook (I also accidentally brought home my official lab notebook oops), and papers, papers, papers everywhere. On the plus side Iām finally out of my studying slump!
(The flowers are for Chinese New Year, letās hope I donāt kill them this time)
