One out of my sparse annual art posts 😭 i wanna make a point to post more of my stuff.

Anyway, little thing ive been doing on the side of studying abroad :) little chibis of my sinners. I had fun with this! Its been a while since ive done a project thats had Multiple Pieces to it so this has been a nice way to ease into it again, as well as familiarizing myself with their designs again.

🩸

Matteo-

Matteo has a few scars on their hands, nothing major but from small cuts they accumulated from their childhood. They've mostly faded to the point that one would have to Really Stare and know about previous injuries to see them. Their most obvious scar is a pretty sizable slash across the back of their neck. It runs through the barcode tattoo they have, separating it into a top and bottom portion. It came from them falling through a broken window as a kid, and while it wasn’t very deep, it didn't heal well and left a pretty noticeable scar.

Luo Ji-

Luo Ji’s most noticeable scar is the one that runs down the right side of his chin. Its really the only scar he has, and he didn't even get it in a cool way. He got it as a result of a vehicular accident one that he was barely able to avoid the brunt of. A truck had crashed into the sidewalk of where he was saying goodbye to a woman he had been seeing, and as she turned away he stepped back and tripped in order to avoid being hit by it. This was just barely enough for him to avoid being hit directly, only being spun as the front bumper hit his foot. The actual scar is from this, when his head collided with a signpost and his chin got caught on a sharp edge. Despite it being a very noticeable scar, he doesn’t think about it often.

Finch

Finch has quite a few scars, with the majority of them being results of her doing jobs. None of them particularly stand out, at least to finch. Technically, her Glowing Teal Eye counts as a scar to her, but shed rather not think about its cause.

Berlioz

Before her canto, berlioz has no major scars that are notable at all, unless you count calluses on her fingers from playing strings. After her canto, however, she has a very noticeable scar in a ring around her neck, showing where she had been beheaded. It acts as a reminder of obsession and actions she had done to try and attain it, and she’s somewhat shameful of it. She hides it under her cravat and shirt collar, so only herself can see it when she either gets ready for the day or changes out

Dorian

Dorian has no scars to speak of. Strange for his lifestyle, isnt it?

Dove

Dove has a few minor scars, mostly on her legs. They’re just the result of being a rowdy kid who got into playfights with her sister a lot. No other reason.

Roz

Shes Metal she doesn't Get Scars. She had dents but they were fixed when she for refurbished.

🖋️

Matteo-

A constant motif in their story revolves around plant imagery and the Weight of O Corp that hangs over their head. They have a lot of issues surrounding their Identity and actually Owning Things for themself, so they’re either strangely aloof when it comes to loosing things or overprotective of what they have, Including their own body. They’re used to functioning as if they’re just a replacement for someone, and that their own Self is transient.

Luo Ji

For him, paranoia and Surveillance is a pretty major motif. He knows that at all times, ever since he became a Wallfacer, that he had to keep his true plans and strategies a secret. Along with that, The Head has similar levels of surveillance as Trisolaris, but with the added layer that they can prod into his psyche. He’s somewhat relying on his image as an Incompetent and Foolish man to deceive both. He can never be truly genuine with people, and has to constantly bite his tongue, lest his life crumble even further around him.

Finch

Finch is very worried about her position and role in society as a “Victim” or as an Oppressor. A lot of the things in her story revolve around this personal dilemma, and the Phoan in her head interjecting with information doesn’t help her one bit. She’s knows that she’s done things in her past that she knows are terrible, and that she has to continue to do so in order to survive in The City. It leaves Finch is a low opinion of herself, and she struggles to see how others would Genuinely want to care for her.

Berlioz

Berlioz’s story and canto revolve around her stubbornness and her obsession. A common theme in her life is a sort of self-sabotage, refusing to compromise on things with her family nor her art as a member of The Ring. The most egregious example is her Obsession over Harriet, in which Berlioz heavily objectifies Harriet and doesn’t truly see her as a Human Being. Rather, she sees Harriet as a goal, something for herself to attain. After her canto, she doesn’t have much aim in her life after the loss of her obsession, and she even starts to develop new ones before intervention from the others. She struggles to imagine herself living outside of an obsession, and can only turn to her compositional work and art after the subject of it is dead.

Dorian

The pursuit of hedonistic actions and ideals to the overall detriment of those around himself is a pretty big motif for Dorian. He tends to throw others under the bus, and while initally punishments don’t seem to really effect him, but once things start to Truly Effect the operation of the Metro and certain connections he has, Dorian falls more in line. He struggles to make genuine connections with people, and will often sabotage his own relationships. He is scared of becoming emotionally intimate with people, and he doesn’t take well to attempts to find whats under his hedonistic exterior.

Dove

Her story revolves around her being raised from birth to fill a certain position, and even though she does have abilities and skills that are innate to her that greatly benefit her for this purpose, she doesn’t feel like she has much of a choice. Part of her also feels like she’s let a lot of people down, thinking that her kidnapping and separation from her family is in some way her fault. She has troubles making her own decisions, and will often rely on someone making them for her. She has a rather pleasant and agreeable personality, though even this feels like something she has to act like in order to avoid the worst of the consequences of her actions. When Holly enters the story, thats the Big Shift in her life that Dove Needs to start to take her own actions and path.

Roz

Similar to Luo Ji, a good portion of her story revolves around deception and trying to pass herself off as something she really isn’t. This goes both ways, as she must act as a simple machine in The Company, and as an Animal when out on her own. The latter is much more comfortable to her than the former, but the extremes of both are uncomfortable. The best way to phrase it would be that she has to Pretend a lot, with pretty major consequences for her if she doesn’t act entirely within expectations.

Kaycie

Ough boy. Where do i start with them. I guess they’ve got a little bit of each sinners motifs sprinkled within their own story; the most prominent ones being their struggles with their Identity, their Obsession, and the blame they put on themself for most things. As a result of being formerly Two Different People, Kaycie’s biggest personal struggle is allowing themself to be a Person. They feel like they have to “make up” their current existence to their past selves, and that combined with the fact that they are a distortion has resulted in them having tunnel vision on one goal: somehow returning their sister, Minuette, to her humanity. Kaycie neglects to acknowledge that they are a person outside of this purpose, which drives them further away from people around them, and thus they dedicate themselves more to this goal. Its a viscous cycle, and one that they’re not very keen on ending. They refuse to examine themself outside of this purpose, to the point that they cant even say what their own preferences are for things as integral as food.

As a whole, they're strangely ashamed at the way they exist now, and refuse to really face the things that had led them here. They want to go back to a time where Everything was Right and Easy, even though they know it never truly existed. They’ve dedicated themself too much now to turn back.

Ok i'm gonna pace myself but since i asked something outside of the prompt. ✏️ How would they write abnormality reports? Maybe even some examples if you're up to it :)

Finch-

Finch’s logs are rather straightforward, but wordy. As a fixer running her own office, she’s used to having to document things for future reference, and so she’s already used to writing down these sorts of logs. However, a notable characteristic of her writing is thats its surprisingly thorough, although this can come at the cost of being almost too heavy with detail. While the company has policies to keep logs as unchanged from the original writing as possible, Finch’s do occasionally have to be edited to remove things that can be considered common knowledge in order to preserve the important information about the abno in question.

Matteo-

Matteo’s logs consist of mostly notes about the behavior of an abno rather than its physical description. He has to make a point to write out a description first before going into speculation and analysis of its behaviors. They have a tendency to anthropomorphize abnormalities they encounter, but their insight that stems from this is valuable. They sympathize a lot with most abnos, though they are easily frustrated when their plans don’t show any change or effect on it. They can easily form grudges against more unwieldy abnos, and their writing at that point would have a lot more personal flare to it.

Luo Ji-

Luo Ji’s logs are. Questionable. He writes them in a very dry tone and often misses important details and information, but will occasionally make connections between aspects of an abno that other sinners could not. Other sinners do write and criticize his writing, but for the most part his style doesn’t change. In the notes of the log there’s usually an argument over just how helpful his observations are (or aren't). Occasionally Luo Ji will defend his writing, but on the whole once he’s done with it, he's done.

Berlioz-

Berlioz takes rather detailed notes on both the sounds and anatomy of an abno, which she then uses to speculate on potential weaknesses. Aside from this, she often writes like she’s talking down to the reader, and leaves in small stabs at the performance of her fellow sinners. She doesn’t like to write logs, and will let that be known in the writing itself. She’s The Complainer. The World’s biggest and most professional Hater.

Dorian-

Dorian’s logs are surprisingly detailed, though most of the time he dedicates them to critiquing the performance and actions of the other sinners. He makes a point to keep just enough information on the abno to make the log somewhat helpful, but this is merely just by company standards. I actually imagine that it takes a little while for one of his logs to be accepted since he starts toying around with what he can and cannot say in it, as well as testing just how much information can guarantee that it gets accepted.

Roz-

Due to her role within the company, Roz doesn’t write logs on abnos. Instead, she catalogs the other sinner’s observations and writings, along with photographs and other descriptions of the abno itself. While she does try to keep her true nature a secret, sometimes she will insert some of her own observations into other sinner’s logs. Most of this time this goes unnoticed, but it’s a pretty dangerous way for her to contribute towards the safety of her fellow sinners. Due to her relationship with Matteo, she inserts her writings into his logs the most often. She knows that if the extra information was caught, Matteo would cover for her and just say that he wrote them down and the other person was simply forgetting he did so.

Dove-

Dove’s logs are by far the most detailed, though hers also have the most of her character shining through. She will type out when she stops in her sentences. (In the middle of a sentence it will end and go “uhm.”) Along with that, her writing style is most like a flow of consciousness, which does make it somewhat hard to get important information from it. Her logs do make note of details of an abno that no one else is able to notice, even when she’s at the heart of a fight. Overall, she gives good insight and takes note of key information that few other sinners would notice, its just hard to parse out what it is because of her writing style.
