Hi! Your drawing made me curious about your AU ^^ What kind of dynamic do Tim and Brian have in it?
I was going to make a drawing for this, but I think a text explanation works better:
(Side note some of this could absolutely change)
Tim and Brian are a sergeant and officer, respectively. Brian applied immediately after high school, while Tim attempted college until he realized that his ideas of law school, among other things, werenāt realistic.
Tim got the job easily with his more neurotic and conscientious ways, while Brian struggled a little, but his extroversion and willingness to comply helped.
When a sergeant position opened up, Brian eagerly applied. He wanted to improve his community by being harder on crime, taking out thugs before they had the chance to do any harm, and direct officers in a better way than he had experienced.
Tim, on the other hand, wasnāt really interested in the job. He was still learning some things and was pretty emotionally attached to each case he responded to, so being in charge and having people rely on him to that extent was uncomfortable. He much preferred working in the advocacy/mental health side of things (think wellness checks, school demonstrations, and domestic issues)
Unfortunately, Tim was really good at his job. He got shit done, could take on a leadership position and gave commands when needed. He also had a way of understanding victims that nobody else did. He was practically forced to apply by the other people in the station, and got the position easily.
It built up some animosity between the men. Brian was pissed that Timās āpussyā way of approaching crime was being accepted after years of their area being hard on criminals, the fact that he joined later, and Brianās knowledge of Timās instability. Being assigned to Timās squad made it even worse.
Theyāre better now, but thereās a lot of built up frustration and miscommunication between them. Tim feels bad and Brian feels cheated.
Thatās all Iāll say for now š«¶
