I signed the lease on my first gallery. The 1905 cottage will double as a new home for my mom and I. While ultimately we've found a way of turning a housing crisis into a positive next step, the move has been extremely difficult for my mom. She has mild to moderate dementia but the disruption has flared her symptoms, significantly. The situation around the move was also quite traumatic. She misses the garden she worked in daily.

Almost all of my energy has been devoted to managing her needs. My gallery opening is getting pushed and pushed. I have to sell enough artwork to pay the plumber to install laundry hookups, buy a washer and dryer and still make rent on the first, since it's painfully certain I won't be able to make any in-person sales during September.
