This was an assignment I recently did about having to make a 1-page comic about a fan fiction. I took to the internet and found this wonderful masterpiece by user RarestPepe on fanfiction.net. I hope I did it justice.
And in case you were wondering, my professor was very concerned because of Pepe’s history as a hate symbol. A disclaimer to those who don’t know me personally: I do not condone or agree with any of that alt-right and white supremacy garbage. It disgusts me that it even has to be a thing. As an artist, it makes me sad to had to have seen a fellow creator’s character get tarnished like that. I feel as though Pepe became a blank canvas of sorts once he reached meme-dom, and while most chose to use him for some quality memes, unfortunately some horrible people took advantage of him for the sake of their own agenda. For those who choose to say “Screw those jackasses, Pepe is a quality boy” this one’s for y’all.
