“No.” He retorted simply and cutly as if to say how dare she even question the thing that he said. “Because I am very drunk and it’s a lot more poetic, if I do say so myself.” The boy smirked rather dorkishly as he turned a mock look of offense towards the girl. “And for an artist like yourself I would assume you’d understand such a complex statment as such.” A tiny chuckle soon followed from his mouth as he attempted to keep his balance and walk like a normal, sober person. “I know I am.” Dexter began, pushing his shoulders back and puffing out his chest as if Eloise had complimented him. “I embrace it..live it even.” His head bounced in small nod of agreement as he spoke. “And I’m not entirely sure what you mean for an artist. Isn’t the lifestyle of the artist to be rather..chill?” He inquired with a tilt of his head as he pressed the elevator button to take them to ground floor. “Correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve always been under the impression the life of an artist is to be some sort of weird hippie. Although, anyone could probably put together that’s not you.” He sighed as the ding of the elevator rang through his ears. “No, I suppose that’s the difference between you and most artists. You seem to put a lot more effort into making a beautiful piece. Rather than attempting to disturb people with some sob story of an instalation.” He smirked before gesturing her into the elevator. “But that’s just my opinion. Who would take a drunk like me serious.” He began to laugh in an attempt to brush off his clearly genuine statement.

Eloise let out a laugh, her small frame shaking with it. “Poetic, huh? I dunno, I think the slur to your words kinda kills the deep vibe you were going for.” she responded, hazel eyes dancing in amusement. “Ah yes, I almost forgot how receptive to the deeper meaning of things I must be because I’m an artist.” she joked, taping on a dramatic sigh to the end of her sentence. She raised both eyebrows as she watched him push his shoulders back before shaking her head, tilting her face away to hide her grin. “That’s just a stereotype. Most artists are actually pretty chaotic, so, consider yourself corrected.” she finished, her voice laden with the airiness of a joke. Her gaze moved away from the boy and flicked towards the elevator doors at the sound of the ding. Rather taken aback by what sounded like a genuine statement spilling from his drunken lips, Eloise looked at him with unmasked pleasant surprise before stepping inside the elevator.  “You know, I think I'm warming up to drunk you.” she mused, stepping towards him with a grin. “All it takes is to fill you up with alcohol for a compliment, hmm? Don’t tell me you’re getting soft on me already, we haven’t even gotten to the bar yet.” the girl teased, not missing the chance to bother him a bit while she could.

Ok, but like does anyone else find themselves throwin’ it back real hard with old ninties shows and just having the biggest twist of that nostolgia knife in the gut. Cuz like let’s be real nobody could do it as good as the ninties. Except like definitely don’t think I miss those ancient ass looking computers..so ok, maybe like I just really miss those kool-aid drinks. You know the ones with those weird pop off cap things? I used to play like I was a vampire and shit. Now thinking about it I probably could have died playing with that mess..

I usually do that but with nineties movies and music, not so much the shows. Then again I was never a big tv person. Yes! I remember those, oh my god, I actually never could open them. I don’t know how a kool-aid drink managed to get the best of me but it did every time.

No kidding. I once had to witness a group of nudists when my family and I took a vacation to California. It wasn’t the most pleasant surprise, but I have to respect their decision to go nude. I hope you didn’t take any offence and I’m sorry. Again. I didn’t mean to come off ill-mannered. Thank you for worrying about my safety as well, but I think I’ll take the risk even so. I wouldn’t worry there may be a vaccine for whatever lives in these water so you never know. See how well it works out for you.

They have nudists in Cali? I thought that was just a European thing. Good for them, though. What makes you think I took offense? There’s no need to apologize, you didn’t come off as rude. You’ve said sorry quite a lot-- do you know that’s often the best indicator somebody has a guilt complex? Suit yourself. For your sake I hope there are no parasites in the lake considering vaccines will hardly get the job done if one decided to infest you. Do I get to know what it is exactly that I’m getting?

I’m sure you’re rather fun at parties, aren’t you? For one thing this was only a hypothetical I was dreaming up as I was making that miserable ride all the way out to the middle of armpit nowhere. On top of that, simply because I know I didn’t save everyone doesn’t mean the rest of the world would know. I suppose if we were truly basing this off of a movie the only real story to be told would be from my mouth and of course I would be the hero because I was clearly the only survivor. Have you not seen Scream? I imagine it would be a verion of that. Only slightly more realistic. 

Tons of fun. My humor is to die for. Well clearly it was a hypothetical situation considering how unrealistic it was. I find it a bit concerning your go to imaginary scenario was one right out of a shitty horror movie, but I suppose the cabin we’re all staying at is to blame. Okay so the world doesn’t know you didn’t save anybody, and they buy whatever tale you spin them. I’m still not seeing how you’d be perceived as a hero. Maybe a miracle for being the sole survivor, and I’m sure the hypothetical press would be all over you, but nit really a hero. No, I’ve never seen Scream. Life’s to short to be watching bad films, you know.

I went to a costume store and asked for the weirdest animal costume they had, but not the horse because then it’d be unoriginal, so they gave me the frog costume. He said it used to be a hilarious meme called “pepe” back in the day, but I just got it because i’ve never seen a frog costume prank before. I r-really hope nobody got it on t-tape. It’d be the death of me. I didn’t w-want to! Mom w-wouldn’t let me change and I know dad wanted to laugh a little more. The costume was heavy on my shoulders and I kept dropping the food inside the costume. I couldn’t even drink without spilling on myself.

Good call on the passing on the horse costumes, that’s way overdone. Wait, that actually sounds familiar. I’m pretty sure my mom mentioned some hilarious frog meme called “pepe” and something about it being rare? Rare frog memes. Anyway, I still hope somebody recorded the whole thing because that’s prime blackmail material. Not that I’d ever...blackmail...you. Man that sucks, you couldn’t even enjoy dinner in that thing.

I wouldn’t ever go full on nude frontal on an innocent bystander. So you’re just in luck. That just another typical day for me honestly. If something goes too smooth I know there’s a bad thing waiting to happen around the corner. It keeps in check at least. Are you one of those people who are paranoid of what could kill you? I mean no offence you’re just worried about your own safety which is understandable. I think I’ll take the risk. Though if I do end up passing away from one, I’ll leave you something in valuable in my will. 

That’s a relief. You can never be too safe these days, some people are shameless around here. That kinda sucks, but I guess it makes sense. I wouldn’t say I’m paranoid. That’s actually a specific phobia which I do not have, thank you. I was being a decent person and warning you too. If I was only worried about my own safety I would have kept all the information to myself. Well that’s reassuring-- I’ll have your death on my conscious but at least I’ll get something expensive out of this.

My mom’s always bugging me to be more spontaneous and prank-y, so I decided to do a surprise visit back home wearing a full on frog costume. Got home, jumped in the house like a frog with all the croaking, but instead of hitting the ground I hit my little brother instead. My mom fell in tears, my dad was nice enough to help me up, and Rowan just shook his head at me as he put an ice pack on his little bump. They were also on their way for dinner at uncle Brady’s restaurant and were already running late, so you could imagine all the stares I got when I walked in with a frog costume. My mom and uncle Brady are never going to let me live this one down. So much for trying to be spontaneous and funny. 

Where did you even find a frog costume, Jules? Honestly this whole story is hilarious and I really hope somebody got this on tape because I’d love to watch it. I can’t believe you went to the restaurant in the costume. Was it hard to eat in that thing?

You know, the initial concern I had on the way out here might have been the fact I really l was not looking forward to turning into one of those god awful horror films. I can assure all of you that I refuse to be a cliche that simply hides in the closet while our killer closes in on us. The second any sort of sign of danger presents itself I will not hesitate to offer up one of you to find my way to safety. Although, rest assured, I will definitely make sure to give you a proper funeral and memorial service when I’m named hero of this whole..unfortunate scenario.

Oh don’t worry, the chances of an actual serial killer pursuing a group of kids this large isn’t very plausible. I mean if you look at any classic example of real life killers it never happens like in the movies. So I’d say we’re safe. And besides, if there was a killer, the chances of them leaving behind any survivors is unlikely. You’d be dead along with the rest of us. And questioning this hero vision of yours-- if you had sacrifice others to stay alive why would you be named the hero? It’s not like you saved anyone except yourself.
