thinking about emily forgetting words and stammering at home when her professional front is down. listen, she knows seven languages i know babygirls head is a mess when she isn’t in work mode.

Having a conversation with her and she sort of trails off, “the thing with the wings… in the air.” sounding a little exasperated.

“bird?”

“the metal version.”

“a plane?”

“yes! a plane!” and then she just gets back into the flow of conversation.

i fear this would be the norm for her partner or roommate or friend or anybody who sees her outside of ‘agent’ mode. and they all just kinda flow with it. it’s not that she’s dumb, or uneducated, it’s the opposite!! she’s so knowledgeable in so many different cultures and languages that the abstract things tend to escape her!!
