what was your character's life like in 2024 ?
a trouble-making adolescent turned speedster hero. while once a member of the young avengers, thr group found itself disbanded as grander duties called each hero, tommy found himself welcomed into mutantkind with open arms. under the guidance of his ‘grandfather’ magneto, tommy found himself in the ranks of the x-men. the title of ‘quicksilver’ was passed down from uncle to nephew as the true crowing moment tommy became an x-men. he was happy to be back on a team, going on missions to help those who needed help. tommy would never say it aloud but his favorite missions were the ones that ended up in space: his favorite court wizard usually making an appearence.
it was always easy to feel like he fell into the shadow of his seemingly no-power-limit twin, billy; but training with the likes of northstar and the original quicksilver, tommy finally felt like an individual.
and he had david alleyne. his best friend, partner, and overall favorite person to exist ever. while tommy might have had everything they dreamed of, they were not one to settle down. life had always been bouncing from one battle to another, just tommy had something to fight for and protect now. he was there when thanos attacked and he disappeared with the snap. five long years went on without tommy shepherd. he returned to a world that was vaguely familiar yet totally different.
does your character have any memories from 2024 or their past ?
while he has no memories, tommy can’t help but be overtaken with deja vu at almost every turn he makes. it feels as if sometimes they’re just watching a repeat of their own life.
what are they doing in the year 2012 ?
he’s living a life with no real direction. a superhero in his teen years, forced out of that role as the young avengers crumbled. tommy took the breakup the hardest. he tried going to college: they ended up bored and understimulated by all their classes. instead of forcing themself to suffer through a degree they had no interest in, they dropped out of school. the shepherds weren’t too happy with this outcome, truly their last straw with their now grown child. tommy getting kicked out was a long time coming, didn’t make it hurt any less. with really nowhere else to turn to, tommy found himself on the kaplans’ doorstep.
while the fact they’re reincarnated twins is currently unknown to tommy, he still always felt an unexplainable connection towards billy. while it’s a full house in the kaplan home, with six people, tommy is happy to have a roof over his head and some kind of family unit to fall back onto. he’s currently saving up the money he makes working at a nearby diner to move out and get his own place.
