Night Sky Quilt by Folk and Farm

The Night Sky Quilt’s dark background is composed of varying hues of naturally dyed fabrics. The variations in these dark -almost black- fabrics are subtle yet they add depth and curiosity to the piece. All of the colors in this quilt were derived from plants and minerals, and dyed by hand in small batches here on our farm.  The lighter colors used in some of the stars seem to give them a sparkle. The contrast of white hand-stitches on black linen is extraordinary.
