my new EP healing (as the cherry tree) is finally here! proud of all the work felix, jenna and maria and i put into this! i’m happy to share some music after so long - it used to be such a huge part of my life, and it would mean the world if you could take a quick listen or share! special thanks to sophia carreras for your endless support and contributions to anything i write, jacob munk for helping us out of a mixing puzzle, oj slaughter (www.ojslaughter.com) for creating a beautiful visual world for this EP, jason trefts / illegally blind presents for always encouraging me, michael v / vanyaland for your years of support, brandon peralta for helping us get this ready for mastering, and to dhye berry for helping push me over the edge to write again after i ran into you at DADT. hey, i saw your response. great to hear you've got some new stuff coming out! i'd thought to post b/c i'd seen photos of your recent show at the lilypad and was bummed i hadn't known about it in advance. anyway, i don't really use IG. any chance you can send stuff through bandcamp? my account there is geodude123. (lame name, i know. i just couldn't be bothered to come up with anything better at the time.) hope you're doing well, and glad to hear you're getting back into music!

new EP is called healing and comes out in JUNE! it will be released under a new name, the cherry tree. i am so excited to put out some music again and am really proud of the work that felix, jenna, maria and i put into this! i can’t wait for you to hear it. this amazing cover photo was taken by OJ Slaughter and features my harp distorted by prisms and lights 🌹

no new music in 2018 :( any chance you'll be able to release anything before 2020?? even a work in progress would be awesome. sorry i keep bugging you but i really liked your previous stuff.

not sure why i got the idea to log on and check this after forever but i finally got your message and i’m sorry! you might be happy to know that new songs are (actually) finally nearly done and for the first time in forever it’s feeling right to put it out

4/5 are close to ready for mastering so my goal is to put it out in Spring 2020

i gave up on music and on a lot of the things i loved doing in 2015 and that’s why i totally fell off. i got really sick over the past summer and couldn’t work. i was home alone for 2 weeks and well, i guess that kind of alone time forces you to be existential and examine all of your life decisions and how you’re feeling. sophia came over before moving to portland and we talked about doing music again. that quickly made me realize there’s a lot i really miss. i locked myself in a room for 5 days and wrote 5+ songs about those general experiences - and reconnecting with those things i miss

the songs sound like the old ones but honestly more polished, the writing is much more direct, the vocals are a little less shy and they are drowned in harp and cello

Hey there! I saw your harp looping video and was wondering what kind of pickup you use and where you place it, or do you mic your harp?

recently put in the dusty strings pedal harp pickup into my harp. it's expensive and a permanent modification (you have to superglue elements to the back of the soundboard), so it's a little unnerving and quite a commitment but the sound is absolutely worth it. no other pickup I've used or heard of compares to this one - it's a super clean and loud amplification ! I then ran it through my BOSS ve20 which has a simple loop feature :)
