What are some baby steps to combating burn out? I'm so tired of feeling... well exhausted, and stressed, and anxious, and yeah, but I also generally lack the energy to make and maintain big things
VS: Feeling “burned out” is really tough. First, you need to consider whether there are some changes you can make in your situation. Are these feelings coming from work, school, family life? Can you change the balance or somehow make your work or school situation less stressful? Have you taken a break or vacation? Can you schedule one? Are others in your work or school situation feeling similar problems? Maybe there can be some discussion with leadership about whether anything can be done to make the situation more engaging, interesting or less stressful.
Finding time for activities you enjoy outside work and school can be helpful. Is there a hobby you can spend some time with that would make you feel good about things? Also, making sure to care for yourself, getting enough sleep, eating well and trying to exercise regularly can help. Sometimes feeling burned out can reflect and anxiety disorder or depression. If you try these things and are still feeling down, you might consider seeing a mental health professional for some guidance.
