Might I suggest that when a child is raised in a household with an absent mother and father and it falls to the parentified older sister to act as a stand-in for their primary caregiver, both siblings may struggle to reframe their relationship dynamic once the younger is no longer reliant on the older for safety and fulfilment of their attachment needs? Causing them to act more like mother and daughter than like sisters? Because evidence shows that the role and power of an older sibling in a two-child family will persist into adulthood (Newman, 1996) therefore this disparity is likely to become a source of conflict in the younger sibling's pursuit of independence; in this essay I will–

#my art #sdv #stardew valley #sdv shane #sdv marnie #in game they def have a struggle in understanding each other #esp during shane's 4 heart event & his first 7 heart event #but i do think they care abt each other #and she may not know how to deal with or handle or even understand his depression #but i think she would see it wearing him down #esp after his 6 heart event & 7 heart event & she would hopefully realize #the difference in how he carries himself #and then when he has his days or even weeks where he's plummeting back down #and she just. sees how exhausted he is.#I DON'T KNOW if any of that makes sense #but tldr: they love & care abt each other but there's a lack of true understanding. but that doesn't mean she NEVER Sees Him.

such a fun detail is how much maru pays attention to your hands... maybe it's just?? idk, not entirely intentional but i love. imagining her loving holding your hands, running her thumbs up and down your knuckles, using excuses like her hands being cold just to hold yours, her admiration for the way you work with your hands similar to how she works with hers... it's such an endearing form of respect
