Hello!! (*´∇`)ノ
Here is a small drawing I made of Amelia!! Welcome, little miss sunshine!
I didn't think that the Picrew gave her much justice, soooo, here is her eye color! I love her so much, you don't understand.
(Before you read this, just know that I haven't proofread anything, this is just a general rant about something concerning I've noticed in not only the Pitt fandom, but as a whole.)
Hey, so not to get political and stuff (I actually don't gaf and will get political whenever and however tf I want), but I have noticed the rise of... antisemitism and hostility towards Jewish people.
And a surprising amount of it (not really, if we're being honest) are from people who claim to be 'progressive', 'leftist', or even liberal / left leaning. People claim that it's 'pattern recognition', but if we're being completely honest with ourselves here, they just want an excuse to be hateful and have an excuse for it.
(Wow, surprising, not like people have done this multiple times before)
But what is really getting me about it, is that people seem to be more accepting of it (or at least think that it's tolerable) due to what's currently going on in the world. And I want to make it perfectly clear that no, antisemitism isn't acceptable nor is violence / hostility towards Jewish people. No matter how much people want to claim that it's just 'pattern recognition'. I am not for—and will never be for— generalizing a group of people.
And it's frustrating, because these people seem to be SO close to actually understanding what the problem is, the cause of the problems that have just been getting worse and worse. But then there's this claw, grabbing and clawing at their throats, telling them, "no, no it's not the billionaires. It's not the multi-million dollar companies, it's not the greedy corporations that don't care about people and only want more money. Noooo. It's the black people, it's the gay community, it's trans people, it's the immigrants, it's the Jews. They're the reason for this. It's their fault. Not us."
AND PEOPLE WILL SIT HERE AND BELIEVE IT WITH THEIR WHOLE CHEST.
But, not to go on a whole tangent. What I'm trying to say is that there is a concerning amount of people (on both sides, I've honestly seen it, I won't lie about something like that) get progressively more antisemitic and hostile towards Jewish people. And I feel like we have brushed passed it a bit too quickly.
Hiii! (*´∇`)ノ I made Amelia on Picrew just to get a general idea of what she'd look like. I love her sm
Okay, I wasn't expecting such a positive response to my last post (I honestly should've because most of the fandom interactions I've had were really nice)
And I want to share my OC's name! Her name is Amelia Rosewood! o(〃^▽^〃)o I'm still trying to come up with her character and backstory, but I've already started doodling her and she looks so adorable.
It's 3 in the morning. I don't care. I need ask again, is this a safe place? Is this a safe space? Yeah? Okay.
Are you guys cool with oc x canon stuff regarding the Pitt? Are we chill with that?
some of y'all (most of y'all) just hate Jewish people and it shows
Of fucking course he said this. Y'all can't even handle the complex characters of day shift. What makes you think you can handle the complexities of people who knowingly chose to work nights? Those characters aren't gonna stay the cool, calm, collected people you think they are because those are all surface-level qualities. You don't actually want night shift, you want the ease of not having to watch characters actively go through a mental health crisis.
Its pretty easy to tell who does and doesn't have any experience with mental health issues/ people who have suffered with mental health issues based on how they treat Dr. robby after the past few episodes
i'm so blown away by people's reaction to robby having a breakdown cause i really thought we already knew this but alas:
mental illnesses are NOT pretty
depression is NOT pretty
suicidal ideation is NOT pretty
ptsd is NOT pretty
yes he's being an asshole, yes he's lashing out, yes he's burning his life down, yes all of that is in par with being mentally ill
So Robby is responsible for everything bad that happens in the show and now apparently Noah Wyle is responsible for every casting decision and writing decision because he's a racist misogynist who is jealous of Shawn Hatosy and is pulling all of the strings behind the show despite the extensive crew with far more decision making power than him.
I think everyone needs to take a quiz that proves they can be normal about Jewish people before they're allowed to post about Robby, Noah Wyle, or The Pitt in general.
Speak your truth on the antisemitism and pretty privilege!!! The most recent example is Jack telling that patient to shut up. Everyone thinks it's funny (and it is) but they'd write whole (hateful) essays on Robby if he did that.
!!!!! abso-fucking-lutely. I can't lie, during that moment I sighed because here we go again... I know I'm gonna be seeing it in a million edits tomorrow... and it's not that I disliked it, just that I'm so aware of the difference if it had been Robby. (a whole slew of "he's really pissing me off 😒" or "who's unprofessional now huh?" etc)
Robby is more unconventionally attractive, (even though I mean cmon. the dude's handsome.) while Jack is a very conventionally handsome older man, because he looks better with greys and wrinkles and he's buff as fuck and shit. this 100% plays a part in how people treat Jack. honestly, most of the time they're seeing and thinking of Shawn Hatosy instead of Jack as a character, which is how he gets mischaracterized so heavily. it does a disservice for him.
seen a ton with frank too— stereotypically attractive man, and his actions get purified to shit. so many people take them in good faith even when they're clearly not. (e.g., "I'm happy to teach dr santos." not a good moment from him, but somehow people were spinning it like he was extending an olive branch.... no.) and yeah, most of those people find him a very handsome man and are verbal about it. some of them probably don't even realize how much it's influencing them. but it is.
so many people r basing their likability of a character based on their fuckability. and it's fucking obvious when it happens. (happens a LOT with Trinity. she's gorgeous, but she's not fuckable to them specifically. straight women, or men who know she's lesbian and therefore "unattainable" and "not for them." so she's a bitch and she's unlikable etc.) pretty privilege is rampant and real. and oh boy, again, if you have a line-up of flawed white men and the only one you single out and despise is Jewish... think on that.

actually i will start crying again if I think about the fact that it really didn't take robby all that much to open up. that it really took just the slightest tap and he was breaking. duke really seeing him, fully acknowledging the severity of his shit, talking quiet, extending empathy, extending friendship and connection.
and it didn't take that fucking much. he didn't have to torture it out of Robby. he was just firm and kind. not beating around the bush like jack has done and not harsh like dana and not vague like cassie.
saying I see what you're doing. I know what you're thinking. are you sure?
and that's all it took to get a little more out of Robby. a moment of actual genuine vulnerability. a verbal admittance of how bad it's starting to get. how much he needs this hospital but how much it's killing him.
and it is partially because Robby is so tired, and it gets so hard. he's keeping up all his anger to mask the hurt but that's exhausting. and it's harder and harder to keep it back. so the second a listening ear is extended by someone who's been safe for him he's laying it out. oh Robby they could never make me hate you. what a deeply human character.
Seeing people hate on Robby for lashing out is really mentally fucking me up for some reason. Like yea he’s being a dick but have you ever been actively suicidal and trying to push people away by being a dick? No. Then stfu. Also I’m sorry people making fun of him for that moment with Dana pmo. Like sorry a parent abandoning you or dying is traumatic and can and probably will affect you most of your life unless you actually go to therapy and even then it will still affect people. He has shown he cares about the people he works with but he’s actively in crisis which is causing him to lash out. Like if yall treated your irl suicidal friend the way yall are talking about Robby I’m sure they’d get worse. While I was self destructing and being a bitch my friends helped me through it. I love the Pitt because it accurately portrays mental health issues and how fucked the American health system is on both the patient’s and doctor’s side.
