You don’t remember the last time you actually spoke to your people. You miss them; your family, and your friends.
For 20 years straight you haven’t seen a smile other than yours.
Days spent looking out the window, hoping for anything to cross path with your ship. You’re only met with blank space and white glowing dots.
The percentage of population in your planet decreases each year. The bright light produced by the sun dimmed. Your people need the light, the hotness of the star to keep surviving.
So, you were sent in a mission; save your planet. No matter what it takes.
The late hours were the worst. Nothing to do other than eat, survive, and hope.
turning your body sideways, trying to rest your mind. You were interrupted; something crashed into your ship. The alarms made you scared.
Putting your feet on the ground, you rushed to the round window.
You were familiar with that action, only this time you actually found something; another ship—small and ugly.
Nothing compared to your white polished “home”.
In the other side there was a small window, in which a small round thing popped up. It had hair on it, and two very little square windows wrapped around it.
It moved, what ever that thing was; it was alive. You had to figure out what it is.
Curiosity killed you, you attached the tunnel your people built for your ship into the monsters door.
This could be a bad idea, but you were desperate for contact.
Softly you open your door. Bare foot, and minimal clothing—just enough to protect you.
In your right hand you hold your weapon. It was white and short; good for bringing along.
Walking up to the ship’s entrance, all you could see was white.
This thing wants to reveal itself. You anxious point your weapon at it.
It was tall, it had four limbs, it was skinny and it had little to no muscle. It was no warrior, what was it doing here?
As soon as you two made eye contact he put his two long upper limbs up, you could see it was panicking.
“Woah fudge! Relax!? Put that thing down!”
This thing spoke in a rare language you didn’t understand. So you did what your people do to learn.
You grabbed its head and pressed your body against it. Connecting your lips. Grace flinched at the sudden harsh kiss
“What the actual hell?” He thought.
His brain stoped working. The kiss didn’t come with a warning, not even a reason. Just lips on lips.
You didn’t give grace time to process it before shoving him against the wall of his own ship. His back hitting the cold metal with a hard thud.
You had him; the tall, nervous looking alien with sandy hair and wide blue eyes—pinned again the metal like he’s some kind of threat.
The weapon pressed against Grace’s chest wasn’t heavy, but enough to make him scared.
What shocked Grace wasn’t the gun you were holding in your hand or the fact that you entered his ship un invited. It was the fact you spoke English.
Not through telepathy or clicks or holograms like Rocky, you spoke english perfectly.
“Who are you?!” You raised your voice in a demanding tone.
Grace gears immediately switched
“Wait! waitwaiteait—I’m not hostile! I swear!” He had his hands up slowly despite being trapped between an angry hot alien woman and spaceship wall with the gun still jabbing at his ribs.
“Who are you.” You repeated your question, more serious and dangerous this time. The gun that was at his ribs is now pressed against his temples.
The coldness of the metal against his temple made every nerve in Grace’s skull scream.
He’d faced down solar flares, astrophage blooms, and the crushing loneliness of space, but this? This was personal. An alien holding a gun to his head. That would brake anyone.
Your eyes got darker, either he answer truthfully now or he dies in second.
His voice cracked when he spoke again. Not dramatic crying, but quiet tears welled up fast, sinking to his clothes.
“My name is Grace! Ryland Grace—okay? I’m. . . I’m human. From Earth, please.”
Grace gave in your demanding question. His blue eyes looked like crystals with this wet liquid that you were unfamiliar with.
“I was sent here…alone… to save my sun,” he whispered softly but loud enough for you to reason. Grace’s desperation for understanding instead of bullets or lasers. “My planet’s dying just like yours probably is! Please, I don’t wanna die!”
You lowered your gun, he reminds you of a child. Ironic enough—he was taller than you, but still.
Grace had his head on his head, scared of what could happen if you just decided to press the trigger.
You and him now have an understanding—both of your planets were dying. But with different effects.
Looking at his eyes, you realize how nice and blue they wer— “snap out of it! You came here to save your people.” You thought.
You looked at him; firm but soft somehow. “My planet dying too. I…I can help you—if you help me.”Weakness was strange for you. You never needed help from someone before! Especially a human.
Grace looked at you slightly shocked. Here he was making another deal with another alien—how funny is that?
He wiped the liquid coming from his eyes and shared a small smile. Then, carefully stretching one of his upper limbs to you.
You raise one of you eyebrows in curiosity “what is this?” It your planet intimacy wasn’t big. we only breed, that’s it.
He looked at his hand “oh! Um, it’s a hand shake. We humans do it to seal a deal. Just—put your hand in mine.” Grace pointed at your right hand.
“If I want to safe my planet, I have to make him like me.” You told yourself
Grace’s hand hovered awkwardly in the air. Palm up, fingers relaxed—the universal human sign for trust.
He knew it was weird. Handshakes were such a dumb Earth thing. Kids learned them in kindergarten before they even understood taxes.
But it ment something between you two now. An agreement.
You stared at his stretched palm like it was some weird alien like artifact—which technically…to you it was. No one touched your hand kindly in years either, not since you left your home.
Now here stood this tall, nervous creature with weepy blue eyes offering peace through…finger contact.
Slowly and hesitantly you lifted your right hand and carefully pressed your three-fingered palm into his five-fingered one.
It wasn’t a perfect match—but Grace squeezed gently anyway.
“Deal,” he said softly, and then surprised you by smiling again. It was small but real this time, you couldn’t help but smile too. “We help each other save our starts.”
‘Oh if only you knew’ the thought was running through your mind, you needed to tell him—but it wasn’t the right time.
‘Oh if only you knew’ the thought was running through your mind,
you needed to tell him—but it wasn’t the right time. You need more time. At least the first kiss was completed.
You’ve been here for a week, or that’s what the humans called it. You helped Grace repair his ship and anything else he needs. He’s hungry? You already have a bag of these so called ‘skittles’ he liked, he slightly complained about how cold the ship is? You hand him your soft feathered blanket instantly.
But even with all the hard work you’re putting in courting him—he’s obviously, almost stupid if you will.
You also met Grace’s friend, Rocky, another alien trying to save his planet too. You and Rocky became friends fast.
Both of you spoke a similar language, while Grace needed a machine to understand him; you just spoke normally to him. Sometimes Grace would find both you and Rocky speaking, and when you looked up at Grace he would have a face of confusion.
Rocky already knew your plans with Grace, he understands your planet courting ship dynamics. And even Rocky would laugh at how oblivious Grace was.
And here Grace was; crossed legged in the main sector, eating his thirds handful of skittles that week while watching Rocky and you chat animatedly.
Again and Again, you both were speaking freely like it was nothing. No translation needed.
And every time this happened, Grace felt a little more left out—like he’d missed some universal alien meeting memo everyone else had gotten but him.
Grace munched slowly on the rainbow candies, wrapped snug in your soft blanket—which smelled faintly of you, he tried to not look jealous as Rocky spun happily after something funny you said.
Rocky giggled, a series of high pitched chimes and then pointed at Grace and did a jazz hands directly at him.
If Rocky could grin, he sure would have been doing it by now.
“What?” Grace mumbled through candy filled cheeks defensively.
Both Rocky and you turned to look at him… then burst into quiet laughter again, clearly about something involving him, probably mocking how oblivious he was being about everything.
The gifts. The food sharing. The way you always made sure his pod-bed had extra warmth settings before sleep cycles...
Even Mary, the ship’s AI occasionally piped up with observations "Analysis: Subject exhibits classic courting behaviors common among during Xocops mate-bonding phases."
But every information flew above Grace’s head.
You need to complete phase 2 fast before it’s too late. In your planet there a rule to mate; fist kiss was for language, second kiss was for knowledge, and the final kiss was for mating.
You were curious about humans—how did they interact with each other?, how do they breed? You needed to know.
Tonight you made that decision. Rocky was asleep in his room, it’s perfect. No interruptions.
You follow the noisy mumbling of Grace. You never knew how noisy humans could be until you spent a week with Grace.
“Grace?..” you knock on the entrance of the pilot room. It was a weird thing you picked up from Grace, anytime he enters a room he knocks.
He was hunched over the pilot’s console, muttering to himself like a mad scientist.
He’d been recalibrating the ship’s navigation system for hours, arguing with Mary about course connections that weren’t even off by much.
Your knocking startled Grace, soft but deliberate. Not Rocky’s usual thumping or your usual confident stride. You were hesitant tonight.
“Yeah?…” he replied to you, spinning his chair around. And there you stood in the dim light of emergency lights, the kind they kept on during night cycles to save power. He noticed you looked different.
Grace blinked at you through tired eyes, and fixed his glasses that were at the edge of his nose.
“You okay?” He asked worried, the same tone you remember your mom speak to you before you left your planet.
“Yes, my health is okay, for now.” You sat beside you with your eyes looking at him.
Grace can’t lie that in the night cycles, when everything is dark and only a red dim light from the alarm would make things visible, you would creep him out.
You rarely blinked, eyes almost completely black and barely any expression in your a face. But, something in him liked it.
He could explain it, but he did.
“I’ve been curious, about your people, about you.” Standing up of the co pilots chair just to take a closer look at him.
You sat on his lap, this was normal behavior in your planet. That’s why you didn’t understand why did Grace’s heart beat began to fasten.
Grace froze completely, his breath stuck somewhere in his lungs.
For Grace, a guy who hadn’t been touched romantically in decades, whose last kiss had been his cheating ex girlfriend years before.
His hand hovered uselessly over your sides, not pushing away, not pulling closer— just frozen mid-air like malfunctioning robot arms afraid of breaking something precious. He could feel everything point where you touched him.
“You remember when we first met? When I leaned into you?” You slightly smiled at him, how could he forget? You had a gun pressed into his ribs and temple.
“Yeah, I remember. Why?” Curiously filled his eyes. Mouth opened prepared to respond.
“My people, we…kiss for information.” He felt your eyes looking at his lips. Grace instantly licked his dried up mouth. “The first kiss, it was for language.” You were staring at his eyes now.
“The second kiss, is for knowledge. I wanted to try..?” Your hands are now shaking, awaiting for the ‘yes’ answer.
Grace’s breath hitched. Knowledge kiss. That was a thing. A real, official alien mating ritual step. Not just some random affection thing— nope. This was phase two of courting in your planet.
And you were asking politely. With huge round eyes and your hands wrapped gently cradling his neck like he wasn’t some sweaty human who hadn’t showered in 24 hours.
Grace swallowed hard, his dry mouth suddenly very aware—and felt the warmth of your fingers against his skin where they rested behind his ears. It was intimate.
And he? He’d spent days pretending not to notice how much he liked you, the way you fixed things without being asked to, how your quiet but steady presence calmed the endless void around him.
His heart pounded harder than it ever had during any spacewalk emergency drill.
Grace slowly replied to you, trying to keep his eyes opened thinking it might’ve been an hallucination from sleep deprivation.
He nodded once “Yeah.” That was all you needed from him.
Getting closer to him, savoring how bad he wanted this for days. You closed your eyes while rotating your head—so you could kiss him more comfortably.
Graces eyes followed your moves, and the when your lips finally crashed together he closed them.
Both filled with blissed as your lips danced together filled with saliva. The tips of your antennas began a to glow different colors. The kiss was electric.
Not like the first clumsy kiss they had, this was on purpose. Soft pressure. Warmth. A slow dance of kiss sharing something deeper than just breath or touch.
Grace’s mind went quiet for once. No equations racing through his mind, no calculations about astrophage decay rates—just you. The smell of your skin, the strange texture of your mouth, and how perfectly your face fit again his despite being from two entirely different species.
Then it hit him—the transfer.
The information he upheld in his brain was now yours also. The things you saw were embarrassing; his first painful kiss in middle school with a girl named jamie, his mom screaming at him for owning a porno magazine, his days in collage, and his ex girlfriend—how their lips collided, him gripping her hair while moaning, and finally their mating ritual; No clothes, sweat, small sighs, and hand touching. But most importantly, the intimacy of breeding.
You let go of his lips, he followed you slowly but stoped when he opened his eyes. He was met with your smiles that screamed ‘I know everything about you now’.
It was awkward for him, but Grace didn’t regret it, phase 2 was over.
Suddenly, you rose up from his lap and left the room. Grace’s eyes following your figure.
That night cycle Grace sat perfectly still in the pilot’s chair long after you left. The room felt colder now. The red emergency lights dimmer. Even Mary stayed quiet—no pings, no status updates.
His lips tingled. Not from the shock, but from you.
From that kiss full of knowledge and memories he left in the past that were now yours.
He stared at the empty doorway where your silhouette had disappeared into the dark corridor leading to living quarters.
Phase three existed, it was coming. And it ment…something he couldn’t figure out yet.
His stomach flipped weirdly, not from fear exactly, not panic either—but with anticipation laced with nerves thicker than asteroids dust around Saturn’s rings.
You were prepared for phase 3, and you hope Grace would be too.
Ever since Grace woke up from his sleep, he sensed your stare at the back of his head. Almost animalistic. He couldn’t walk around the ship with out you being in the same room he needed to be.
He felt like a prey; the innocent lamb wanting to survive. You were the predator with your sharp fangs, piercing stare and sharp hunger; like a wolf ready to eat his heart and consume his brain.
In the gallery? You materialized beside him as he poured coffe.
Engineering bay? There you stood behind him while he tinkered with wires.
Even in the biodome—where sunlight mimicked Earth and grass grew under artificial skies, you appeared like some spectral guardian of courtship ritual only aliens understood…
And your eyes they weren’t scary exactly—not really, but it made his skin prickle every time your gaze landed on him for too long. His pulse jumped whenever you turned your head slowly toward him across a room.
He started sweating more than usual during work shifts.
Ate faster. Tried to distract himself by talking nonstop to Rocky about fuel efficiency.
But Rocky just giggled and said things Grace didn't understand through translation "Mate-bonding natural! She like Ryland! Strong Like" Rocky sang.
“Mate bonding?! What are you talking about!” Grace coughed violently, ramen broth nearly spraying out of his nose.
Rocky stoped his singing with Grace’s sudden cough burst. Grace could feel Rocky’s stare. Rocky wasn’t just joking. He was stating it like it was a universal law, like gravity or the fact that oxygen kept humans alive.
“You stupid Ryland, question?” And now he was thumping those five rocky limbs against the metal floor like some kind of alien bunny having a fit.
The noise echoed through the main sector and Grace could feel every vibration in his ribs where Rocky’s "back support" had turned into aggressive patting.
Grace wiped broth from his chin with a sleeve, face burning. "I'm not—I mean—that's not—I don't even know what you're talking about!" He stammered between coughs and panic breaths.
“You kiss again last night! You touch hands! You share food for three cycles straight question?” Then came another series of rapid clicks—the Eridian equivalent to the word ‘stupid’
Grace’s mouth opened and then it closed. Then opened again like a fish gasping in zero gravity.
He had not realized how obvious it all was, how every little alien thing you’d done was being cataloged by both Rocky and you like some kind of alien courtship checklist; sharing food, handshakes, sleeping nearby without complaint, and the kisses… yeah, that one screamed mating ritual.
Rocky spun in place once, as if he was throwing hands up in disbelief, and then pointed directly at Grace with one sturdy finger limb “You slow Ryland! Slow slow”
A series of high-pitched whistles followed, probably laughing at him internally while his brain short circuited over something so simple yet obvious.
And worse, you were about to kiss him into Phase Three if he didn’t figure this out soon…
In the background you could hear Rocky still laughing at Grace “Slow slow.“ while he dances.
Unfortunately, both Grace and Rocky made enough noise for you to hear them. The moment you stepped into the main sector with your messy hair, eyes half lidded from sleep, one hand scratching your head, the atmosphere changed. Almost like a switch flipped.
“Why is Rocky laughing..” you scratched your head, your eyes still tired.
The room feel silent with your presence,
“Hello—“ you confuse voice cut off by Rocky.
Rocky, who had been vibrating with amusement seconds ago immediately stiffened. His five limbs froze mid spin. The cheerful chirps cut off like someone hit mute.
“Bad bad bad!” He practically leaped backward in panic, scrambling toward his room with clumsy thumps and near tumbles over loose floor panels. Gone. Door sliding shut behind him like he’d just witnessed something horrible and couldn’t be caught dead witnessing it longer than necessary.
Grace stood frozen too but for entirely different reasons; Your figure looked soft, the black tank top you stole from the woman that was here before you—made your breast look perfect.
And suddenly the silence between you two felt louder than all the screaming Rocky and Grace let out minutes ago.
Now, phase three loomed over him like an asteroid impacting on the ground. Then you dropped words that should be considered dangerous.
“You know…my planet needs help, right?” Your eyes connect with his, giving that soft look that kills him. You know what you are doing.
“I—um..yeah.” The words barely left his mouth, his hands began to shake as he tried to dodge your gaze.
“Well, to help save my planet—I have to keep my lineage. You can help me. . . Right?” That smile you gave him could kill anyone. You knew he couldn’t say ‘no’ to you. You knew he liked you and you liked him—that’s a perfect match in your mind.
Grace’a breath stoped. Completely. Not even a tiny exhale.
You weren’t just asking him, you were stating it. Like it was destiny, like the universe had already written your names together.
It hit him like solar radiation through an un shielded viewport—immediate and overwhelming heart spreading from his face to his toes.
His hands shook harder now from sheer emotional overload, you wanted him. To save your planet you a mate—and you choose him.
In Grace’s brain; the scientist part was screaming about compatibility rates between two species and genetic viability risks.
The human part… the lonely guy who missed being touched?, who’d smiled at your skittle gifts every morning? That version of Ryland Grace didn’t hesitate for a second.
He slowly nodded, once and whispering a simple ‘yes’
And that was all it took for your hand to grab his, rushing him towards your bay. Grace followed you—you were in power now.
Pushing his frame into your so called ‘bed’, the blankets were ruffled and un organized—but Grace didn’t even notice. All he notice was his heart pounding like it wanted to escape his chest.
Then your figure, who’s slowly undressing itself from the little to no clothing you carried.
You started peeling of the tank top with slow, deliberate fingers dragging themselves to the edge of the material—then finally discarding the item. You smiled at Ryland’s face; mouth slightly opened, glasses almost falling and eyes full of awe.
The last item of were your panties—in which you shoved into Ryland’s mouth. It became a gag, a human muffled silence over whatever sexual noise might’ve escaped otherwise.
You began to crawl over him, like a lion ready to eat. Fingers dragging themselves over Grace’s pants, but you became desperate—you didn’t understand these type of pants. So, you did what it was best; ripping the in two.
Your hands grabbed both sides of Grace’s pants and started pulling until it broke. The rip echoed through the silent ship like a gunshot.
Grace didn’t even have time to flinch, let alone protest—before his sweatpants were violently torn apart at the seams, fabric splitting clean down the middle like paper in a shredder.
Cold air hit his skin instantly, his legs froze, and every hair on his body stood up. then you were on him, kneeling over him with that predator grace again, fingers now roaming freely where clothing no longer existed as an obstacle.
He couldn't speak—not with your panties still stuffed firmly in his mouth. All he let out was a muffled moan.
Your touch was warm and confident.
Determined in that alien way where it meant action, not hesitation or awkward human small talk about feelings.
You soon took off his boxer, his dick sprang out—exited to finally get some action. It was already hard and pre cum started oozing out of his tip.
Curious about the semi white liquid, you stuck your tongue out and had a taste. This action caused Ryland to moan.
Grace’s entire body arched off the bed. The second your tongue touched him soft, and warm—his hips jerked like they had a mind of their own. A muffled moan exploded through the gag in his mouth "Mmmph! Nngh!" No one had touched him there in years.
His face burned hotter than any solar flare. His hands clenched into fists at his sides, not pushing away, but gripping soft material to ground himself from floating away emotionally.
That tiny bead of pre-cum—you tasted it without hesitation, a curious flicker across your tongue and Grace nearly came undone right then and there.
Every nerve ending lit up like Christmas lights on Earth during holiday season. Heat pooled low in his stomach.
His breath came fast through flared nostrils behind fogged-up glasses that were now completely crooked. And still… you kept looking at him with those big round eyes—as if studying human anatomy firsthand.
You decided that was enough studying, You angled your hips against his, then lowered yourself down—the sound escaping your lips mirrored Ryland’s groans of pleasure as you bounced on him repeatedly.
The back of your thighs slapping the front of his.
To get a better feeling—your hands went behind you onto the bed beside his legs, this angle made Ryland a moaning mess. The tears were flooding out. The slap of skin echoed through the room while sweat glistened on both bodies from exertion.
With all the noise Grace was making you worried that Rocky would appear out of nowhere.
A heat pool began forming in your lower stomach. You knew phase 3 would be over soon. You pulled the panties out of his mouth first—and then your hands were framing his face, thumbs brushing over the sharp bones of his cheeks as you kissed him deeply.
The kiss hit Grace like a supernova. No warning. Just lips crashing against his with sudden hunger that stole every remaining thought from his brain.
I wasn’t gentle this time. It wasn’t just knowledge sharing or courtship ritual completion. Desire burning hotter than any star in their dying system.
Grace gasped into the kiss—finally free to breathe properly, and immediately leaned into it like he’d been starving for affection. His arms finally moved, not shaking anymore but wrapping around your torso instinctively to pull you closer. His lips parted eagerly under yours; clumsy at first but quickly matching your rhythm.
Then the orgasm finally hits you both; hot liquids running into your system. Your cum now covering his skin.
And then your voice came—soft against his lips still connected in that lingering kiss and Grace heard words that short-circuited his brain all over again
“I forgot to tell you…third kiss makes baby.” You smile onto the kiss.
His eyes flew open behind fogged-up glasses.
He didn’t move and yet couldn’t process it fast enough through the post-orgasm haze and residual adrenaline.
“A baby? Like… a child?” You could hear the shock in his voice.
“Yes, dummy. How else could I save my planet” you were smiling at him like this was great news. “Now we sleep” you kissed his cheek one last time, before laying beside him—head on his chest.
“Fuck me…” was all Ryland was thinking.
