Can i just say that emotional support dogs are valid, people always tell that my dog (who is registered as a emotional support dog for my sister with severe anxiety) isn’t a real service dog. 1) my dog had to go to basic training and my family had to train him in case of an attack 2) he helps my sister so much and 3) emotional support animals shouldnt be discriminated

I posted abt some really awful cat breeds yesterday and I want to expand on a couple things A few people were asking about scottish folds and the pain they’re in. With Scottish Fold cats, the bones and cartilage do not form properly, and as a result they have the overly large head, short face and jaw. They also have short, bandy legs and thick immobile tails. The cartilage is not strong enough to work as a shock absorber in the joints and as such it wears out very quickly leading to severe arthritis and spinal issues. Cartilage is what keeps a cat’s ears standing up, and since folds have major issues in that department, that’s why their ears are floppy. The floppy ears are DIRECTLY related to the pain. Because here’s the other thing: kittens born from scottish fold litters that DON’T have the fold? Also don’t have the pain. The ear fold is a symptom of a much more body-wide, painful problem. A kitten with the Scottish Fold gene from both parents will show signs of arthritis on X-ray from as young as seven weeks old. Scottish fold cats gained serious popularity after a few celebrities (Thanks Taylor Swift, thanks Ed Sheeran) got them and these particular cats recieved a lot of visibility on social media.

Great going, guys. On the note of famous cats, you know Maru? You probably do, they’re the kitty that got famous by jumping into boxes a bunch. As you do!!

Maru is technically a scottish fold too, but without the fold, which is why Maru can lead a better, less painful life than other scottish fold cats. Chronic pain begins for folds in kittenhood and follows them for the rest of their lives. Maru is lucky, and has lots of energy, like a healthy cat would. Cats display pain differently than humans. While another animal may limp, or cry, cats will act “”””calm””””, and opt to lay down and sleep rather than display normal signs of agony. That’s why Scottish folds are so “”calm”“. Folds who are given doses of painkiller at the vet will also suddenly perk up, displaying a personality you might not even know they had. For the cats that get this experience, this will be the first time they’ve ever felt normal in their lives. So yeah! That’s a little more detail. Please don’t encourage the viral spread of popularity among unhealthy pure-breed cats like the fold. If you have the resources to care for a Fold (or any pure-breed animal with health problems for that matter) that you find at a shelter, by all means give it all the love you can, but don’t encourage their popularity, and don’t pay breeders.

nothing mystical or fancy here. just some serious tips.

- water can’t dilute essential oils. use coconut or almond oil and mix THAT with water.

-put something under your coloured candles because they leave stains.

- don’t start fires indoors. candles are ok but keep an eye on them please.

- lavender incense/essential oils are dangerous for cats.

- check thrift stores THEN dollar stores before spending lots of of money online or in a metaphysical shop. save your pennies.

- the worst that’s gonna happen if you tell people you’re a witch is they tell you you aren’t and look at you weird. you aren’t going to be beaten up. that being SAID, it’s perfect okay to not tell people because you’re scared because they’re Christan or you’re worried it might damage the relationship or whatever. YOU as a person comes before the craft.

- that being said, making witch friends irl is AMAZING. PLEASE compare crafts and tips as a way to learn and grow.

- check for chemical reactions or skin reactions or poisons in ingredients before mixing.

- don’t DIY witchy sunscreens with coconut oil unless you want skin cancer. it has an SPF of one and is responsible for a lot of skin cancer in the 80s. this is a FACT.

- yes, while going eco is good, TRUST PROFESSIONALS OVER PINTEREST BLOGGERS. Herbal remedies are not cures or replacements for vaccines.

- fuckin refashion and recycle. saves money and saves garbage. make a tomato can into a succulent pot or use a cola bottle to store herbs.

- check for gas leaks before you go thinking there’s ghosts. Weird smells, lapses in thoughts, hallucinations are all signs of a gas leaks. Also maybe talk to professionals about psychosis if you have access to them? This isn’t saying there aren’t visible spirits out there! But it’s important to note ignore bad things in the hopes that they’ll be witchy, because that’s extremely dangerous

- if some 30 year old starts to call you trash and harass you on your blog because you think pop culture spells are cool, and you like to have fun with your craft, they’re a very sad person. don’t let them drain you, don’t argue. block and report if necessary. You don’t owe anyone your time and it won’t be good for you.

Yeah don’t fucking make that assumption because you’ve been privileged as to not. My hair was set on FUCKING FIRE, I was pushed down stairs (while I was on crutches), and I was repeatedly harrassed.

I’m not the only witch who I know who has had similar experiences.

Don’t underplay the danger of being out of the closet because you’ve been privileged to not have to face that.
