coming back online to share some important news: per this reddit post, the Annotated Mountain Goats will be taken down soon due to the local hosting for it ending. if you aren't familiar with tAMG, it's been an incredible resource for tMG lyrics, explanations, info, banter, etc. for many years, created and maintained by one person, up until the project was discontinued and the site was left in an archival state in 2017. presumably, someone out there will pick up the thread and bring tAMG back online someday--in fact, there are already people continuing the good work, like More Annotated tMG-- but for now, if you want to know for sure that you'll have it, i advise saving a local copy. here's a zip of it that i snagged from a friend and put on google drive, which you can download and unzip, navigate to the folder, open any html file, and navigate with the files on your local computer the same way you would as a website. the site is fully archived and navigable via the wayback machine, as linked above, but wayback has gone down before; as an archivist, i say: the only way to be sure that something will continue is to do it with your own hands. carry the torch!
