Part 2: one less promblem without you

I'm back y'all, survived that roller coaster of an episode last night. Barely, mind you.   I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I mean jeez this kind of excitement shouldn't be allowed on the Disney Channel.  Or should at least come with a warning.  Can't I just say...

FINALLY.  But we'll get to that.

We left off with the gang at Prom, with Austin accidentally confessing to Carrie that he should've gone to Prom with his hot, beautiful, amazing soulmate Ally, instead of Piper.

Carrie doesn't spill the beans, but she threatens to ruin Austin's night if he doesn't give Piper the best. Prom. ever.

He, of course, is shitting bricks because he can't hide his feelings for Laura, uh, I mean Ally.  I love nervous Austin, btw.  Ross plays uncomfortable really well.  Almost too well...Like he's not acting. 

Ally is a total Bae, surrounded by cute guys, and Austin is sooo cute all jealous.  Piper of course, is not an idiot like her sister and starts to realize what's happening.

How come all of their dates look twice their age?  

Because Austin can't hide his emotions, he tries to avoid Ally at all costs.  But of course, they both get elected Prom King & Queen (I guess getting over her stage fright made Ally popular suddenly?)

They share a slow dance and Austin excuses himself to go talk to Piper, who looks heartbroken.  I do feel bad for her, she stepped into a bad situation, she didn't know the history of Auslly--she should've sought out Kiera.  Austin leaves Ally hanging, but no fear, Dez steps in and sweeps Ally off her feet, literally.

Austin gently breaks up with Piper, who is glad this happened now, 1 month into their relationship instead of in a year.  1 MONTH!? First of all, 1 month in teen years is like a long time.  Secondly, I didn't realize the show's timeline was real time. (THAT WAS DIRECTED TO YOU, DISNEY, PLAY MORE THAN ONE EP A MONTH PLEASE). 

Because their dates are out, Trish and Dez do the dance contest together.  Like Screech and Lisa on SBTB.  

Austin is about to confess his feelings to Ally, when Gavin literally rides in on a white horse.  and this is the part where I was screaming F%^K YOU GAVIN.  

Ally dumps Gavin, and he hems and haws about getting dumped on Prom night.  Well, Gavin, seeing as that you probably went to prom 8 years ago, when you were the appropriate age, you shouldn't be too sad.  Go Taylor Swift it, dude.  

Of course Trish and Dez win the dance contest, I mean no one saw that happening.  I hope the $1000 is manatee bucks again.  Aww, it's not, it's basically donated back to Chuck's wood working club.

Austin and Ally finally get their slow dance, both newly single.  WINK WINK.  The WAY LAURA LOOKS AT ROSS MAKES ME WANT TO DIE.  He TELHLGIU HER HE NEVER STOPPDE LIKING HER. I CANOTT RIGHT NOW.  

She tells him he's perfect and OMGUI^(^WAAF.  

AND HE TOTASIH LEANS IN AND THEY KISS AND ITS PERFECT AND ASKDHJSRBG AND HE"S SO TALL AND SHE"S SOOO LITTLE.  I CNAT BREAKTHE.  KILL ME DISNEY CHANNEL. 

Actually don't touch me, I cannot with this show right now.

Best Night Ever. It was the best night ever.

Finally saw the boys in concert and words cannot even right now.  Danced all night, knew every line, now I can't remember how it goes, but I know that I won't forget it.  I was transported back to my BSB days when I lost my shit for them, but this is like 100 times worse because I actually make money now and can spend it on good seats.  Dangerous.

I just…can I just listen to Zayn talk like all the time?  He doesn’t even have to say much, but the Northerner accent KILLS ME.  Is that too much to ask?  His runs and the high notes are just everything, they make every song.  His voice is so strong, obsessed.  Officially Zayn is my favorite right now.  I mean, his hotness is unreal.  And I just want to put Louis in my pocket and take him everywhere.  And Niall, my first 1D love, what can I even say about a man with a guitar?  And the fact that they were all sweaty and kept bringing up how hot it was (100% humidity, 93 degrees), wasn’t helping matters.

I highly recommend getting seats next to the catwalk because Liam will hip thrust in front of you many times, and also if you have a clever sign, you are pretty much guaranteed that they’ll see you. My sign said: “Niall, are we in Nashville? Cuz you’re the only TEN I SEE.”  Not sure if Niall saw, but Harry definitely did, squinted to read it, looked hella confused, then…wait for it…smiled.  Took him a little, but he got there, I’m proud ;)

I can also say that I’ve gotten droplets of Harry’s spittle on me, so basically life made, right?  

The best was when they took up a 3 year old boy named “Eric” (although the boys are really terrible at reading lips because clearly the boy’s mom was mouthing CAMERON) on stage, and all the females in the audience spontaneously ovulated as Harry held him in his arms.  I’m not a Harry girl, but shit, it made him even more charming, if that were possible.

Of course, he made things awkward when he asked the 3 year old which one of the girls in the audience the kid wanted to date, which is a weird AF question btw, then proclaiming, "He's looking at his mum.  It's gone wrong, it's all gone wrong!"

Also, Mr. Styles has been spotted in many of the places I like to frequent in Nashville, so I just want to thank him for now increasing the population that will no doubt go to these places, making my life more difficult, thanks hun.

I met some very nice girls there who are road tripping around following the guys, and Liam definitely acknowledged them mid thrust at one point, so that was nice for them too.  There was so much going on that the concert flew by, even though they played for a long time!  But I loved every minute of it.  I’ve watched the videos I have (especially the Best Song Ever with Zayn waving in our direction) more times than I care to repeat. Regrets are that I didn’t record Rock Me and that my pics of Zayn were all kinda shitty. 5SOS were great too, Ashton had a kick ass Motley Crue shirt on, and Calum had an equally sick Blink 182 shirt.  Want to go see the boys again, and maybe I will…

99 Promblems and a date is #1.

I know it's been awhile, but I have been busy with a move and new job, yada yada yada, excuses excuses, I know.  Because this is a very special A&A (as per the Disney announcer), and it was my Prom-pisode that I predicted, so I had to recap.

Oh God, this episode KILLS ME and it hasn't even started.  

We open in Sonic Boom, with Austin asking Ally to the PROM...oh but wait, it's just him practicing to ask Piper.  WHY, WHY KEVIN & HEATH?  Why do they have to tease Austin asking Ally to the prom?  Why do they do this to my heart?

Ally is not into the way he's going to ask, instead PROM-pting her ideal ask, hint, hint.  Austin, be Ally's knight in shining armor!  DAMMIT AUSTIN.

My Prom ask was pretty cool, my prom date and I were both the respective Tennis Captains of our high school, so he asked in tennis balls spelling out Prom?  Known him since I was in kindergarten, loved going with a friend, no pressure or anything, just fun.  But I digress.

Dez's ask is actually pretty epic and thoughtful, Zaliens get up and all.  Take a lesson, Austin.  Of course, it's Dez so he ends up scaring Carrie and she karate chops him right in the carotid.  

Trish is distraught because she can't go with her boyfriend, Jase.  I like how Ally just assumes that Jase broke up with Trish. But no, it's because he has broken his leg while trying to do a skateboard stunt.  

She was hoping to win some couples dance contest, so now she needs a date.  Couples dance contest?  What is this, Saved by the Bell? RIP Casey Kasem.  That reference was for my older fans.  

Ugh, Jace lives in Albuquerque?  Trish you do not want to go there.

Ally is just waiting for Gavin to ask when, oh of course, Austin has a cute, im-PROM-ptu serenade romantic ask for Piper.  Laura's face though. 

Everyone is building prom up so much, Ally is crestfallen.  Guess who got a date to the PROM?  Chuck just got PROM-oted to Trish's date. Trish is really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

Gavin is super weird about the whole prom thing and wanting to go to some Pig Run instead.  Plus he looks like he is 28 years old.  And this is Ally's A-ha moment, when she realizes she doesn't actually want to go with him, or be with him for that matter. FINALLY.

YAAASS MR. DAWSON.  MISSED YOU.

Gavin finally shows up with a violinist and asks Ally to Prom, and SHE SAYS NO.  OH SNAP.  She PROM-ised herself she wouldn't go with the wrong guy.  Awww.  DAMMIT AUSTIN.

Wow, Trish's dress.  There is a lot going on there.  And a lot going on with Dez's multi-colored houndstooth tux.

WOW, Austin's tux.  Mmm, leather lapels.  Zippered pockets? Eh. 

They are all about to leave, and Austin tries to convince Ally to go with the group.  When he takes her hand and tells her that she always looks great, I wanted to snuff myself with a pillow.  OMG, kill me.

Ally: I want you guys to have fun without me. 

Dez: We always do.  Classic Dez.  

I feel so effing sad for Ally right now.  Girlfriend could go in a potato sack and look great, and I obviously know she will end up going but still.  She's alone.  

Jace surprises Trish at the Prom, broken leg and all.  This is another SBTB parallel, y'all.  This leaves Trish is a strange predicament as she feels bad for lying to Jace and going with Chuck to the dance and also for letting Chuck down because he's so grateful she asked him.  Trish tells Austin that he has no idea how it feels to be at the dance with one person when there's someone else you want to be with.  

And right on cue, Austin's A-ha moment.  In strolls Ally.  OMG Laura, fan machine, hair.  Eff it, I will take Ally to Prom.

Austin muses that he does know what it's like, and instead of Trish hearing his exclamation, Carrie hears it, and we are left hanging as to if she will tell Piper or not.  Dun dun dun.

The next episode might actually kill me, there's really only one question left unanswered, one thing left unsaid, one thing left undone with Austin & Ally.  But they gave most of it away in the Prom-o, right?  Until next time...

Monday recap!

This is how I imagine Ross with every female in the world. 

Sorry for the tardiness, but I was at Coachella this weekend, so I'm a little sunburnt, blistered and my mind was blown, so bear bear with me.  You'll get that later. 

Directors & Divas aka the one where Dez says cray cray.

Trish and Austin have some important meeting, leaving Dez and Ally alone, and their time together is awkward. Clearly Austin is the thread holding the group together (a lesson we learned in What ifs and Where's Austin?, which was the ep where Ross was gone for TBM, a little throwback coincidence). 

Austin gets a job in a new movie, directed by some hot shot named Spike Stevens, I'm guessing that's an homage to Spike Lee/Jonze and Steven Spielberg.  Apparently, he is the reason Dez went from wanting to be a neurosurgeon to becoming a director.  The world thanks you.

Austin hopes that he gets to play a singing surfer in a beach movie. Well, Austin, maybe if you were in some sort of beach musical, they would play it 289475029847592x and remind us during Winter that Summer's not over yet!  One can only dream.  They have a sense of humor, these writers.

Good news is that Spike also hired Dez and Ally for the movie too, however Dez thinks its because the guy admires his work.  It's not, just your run of the mill favoritism.  This is actually a good lesson learned by Dez, the entertainment industry and life in general is brutal and full of rejection, better to learn it now, kids.

In A&A world, do all directors dress like Quentin Tarantino?

Austin thinks he's playing a mermaid, but instead he's just playing a fighter pilot who falls in love with one, played by Brandi Braxton (the cute as a button Grace Phipps, who is the STAR in this episode, steals every scene).

Brandi Braxton is a famous actress who was in the movie, "the Duchess Diaries," luckily Disney owns the rights to that other movie that it suspiciously sounds like.  And I'm going to read between the lines and make the comparisons with the star of that movie and the alleged difficulty some have with her.

Brandi may be talented but she is a capital B.  She goes on about how she doesn't want Austin standing in front of her, looking at her or touching her. Brandi Braxton is kind of like me to my co-workers, is that weird?

She can only be tamed by her blankie and stuffed Bear Bear, and she has all these crazy demands and hates everything.  In short, she acts like a child, and she hates on Ally's theme song for the movie, asking that it be made into a Spanish duet.  She also rips Bear Bear's head off, literally, at one point, and continues to carry it around in her purse, talking to it.  Bitch be cray.

Dez finds out that he was only hired because he is Austin's friend, after having to perform a lot of embarrassing menial tasks for Spike and Brandi.  He is obviously discouraged and so the gang devises a plan that will give him a chance to shoot a scene for the movie.  

Of course, Brandi refuses to comply and follow directions, leading to Trish insulting her.  She quits, after spraying a juice box all over Trish, because she is an entitled brat, but to be honest, sometimes I want to spray a juice box all over Trish, too.

She continues to have a temper tantrum, and Dez has had enough of her shit, and he calls her out, full on yelling at her, which makes her recoil a little bit.  She recants and rejoins the movie, even calling Dez 'sir.'  At the end of the day, Dez is able to direct the scene, and Spike likes his work, encouraging to keep going for his dream. 

The episode ends with the music video for Ally's song directed by Dez, but since she had to change song back into English from Spanish, the lyrics are a bit lost in translation.  I was actually happy my DVR cut it off, I couldn't listen to it.  :)

So, can't wait til the next episode, this one was cute but had no Auslly moments, but I will not be following things on tumblr very much because I do not want to be spoiled, and I hear things have been leaked.  I will, however, try to update my story this weekend, for anything who is interested.  Until the next time, which at this rate will probably be June, but hopefully we'll find out about season 4 soon.
