Chris couldn’t help but laugh at her come back, he loved their banter, he shook his head and drank from his wine, amused smile playing on his lips as he put it down. “Yes but I learned from my mistakes.” He replied with a playful wink even if his words were actually serious. “Well ‘the badass’ is my girlfriend, I get endless badass points just for that.” The rest of the dinner was much the same, them talking and joking about things, he tried to hide how nervous he actually felt, specially since Santana had already kind of given him, her answer back in the car. After dessert, he grabbed the bottle of wine and their jackets and moved to the balcony. He took a deep breath not even wasting a moment to admire the view of the resort and mountain at the back as he turned towards Santana. “I spent a lot of time thinking about this…” He trailed off wiping his hands on his pants. “If I should do something big or small or something like Paris or just pretty much anything but I decided those kind of trips could wait, when we go I want to be able to look around explore the cities and that, this… I wanted us to be focused on other things, I mean we’re still going to go and skii or snowboard and all but I know you don’t like the cold so staying in bed… Or just enjoying the spa or whatever this place has will be nice too.” He realised he was rambling and he fidgeted on his spot a little more. “Santana Lopez… You are a pain in the ass and you can be mean and stubborn.” This was not how he planned the speech to go but he couldn’t really control the word vomit. “But you’re also smart, determined and gorgeous, caring and talented and badass, you’re just… Wonderful and you make me really happy.” He fidgeted a little more as he tried to pull out the little velvet box out of his jacket with shaking hands, once he did he got down on one knee and opened the box. “Would you marry me?”
Santana listened to him speak, noticing his nervous behavior and rambling. Her eyebrow quirked a little in curiosity, wondering what was going on with him but she didn't really think much of it. Before she knew it he was down on one knee and the sparkle from the ring he was holding caught her eye. Looking back and forth between him and the ring, Santana’s hands covered her mouth. She was speechless and in shock she felt like her heart had stopped and she couldn't even form a sentence. Even though she’d said yes to him before when she thought he was joking but this was forreal this time. Taking a deep breath she knew she had to say something and soon. Dropping her hands to her side, she nodded quietly before her mouth allowed her to form words “Yes-yes I will marry you” she responded as a smile slowly formed on her face.
