Batman Arkham Knight Initial Impressions
The only thing I knew about Arkham Knight before playing it, was that you got to drive the Batmobile. Â I also heard mixed reviews about the Batmobile aspect, so far, I have found it to be enjoyable. Â I just hope that it does not wear out its welcome. Â
Early game spoilers:
The story so far: the game begins with the cremation of the Joker. Â From there, the Scarecrow makes his return (we last saw him in Arkham Asylum as he was dragged into the sewer by Killer Croc). Â Scarecrow releases a small amount of his toxin in a diner and releases a statement saying he will release a larger amount throughout Gotham. Â The entire city of Gotham is evacuated, with the exception of super villains and thugs. Â We get a shot of Two-Face and the Penguin walking down a street together.Â
One of the first things you do as Batman, is take down a room of thugs and release Poison Ivy from an isolation chamber. Â We then proceed to place her in the back of the Batmobile and take her to GCPD. Â
At this point, the game opens up to show you side-missions and the Riddler’s challenge.  I went to the Riddler marker as my first task.  In order to perform his first challenge, I had to drive the Batmobile around a loop three times, beating faster times each lap. Â
I then met Oracle in her headquarters in the clock tower, to get a better location of where the Scarecrow is. Â After a Batmobile upgrade and a Batmobile puzzle, you are able to use radio- and microwaves to pinpoint where Scarecrow is producing his toxin.
