Addict. Crave. Obsessed.

Addict. Crave. Obsessed...These our some of the words that have popped up to me in reading, devotions, and through sermons in the last week or two. When I truly examine my heart I know for a fact that I love God and want to do His will, but crave? Addict to His word? That's not how I would describe myself. But I know I want it! I know it!

"Ye know the house of Stephanas...and that they have ADDICTED themselves to the ministry of the saints." 1Corinthians16:15

Addicted is such a strong word. Addicted to the ministry! Another translation says "to the service". I want that! I want to not be able to hear time without God or without serving. The chapter goes on to say: 

"I URGE you, brothers, to submit to such as these and to everyone who joins in the work, and labors at it". 

Prayer: I pray that God will help me, and my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ out there, to be dedicated so that we may be able to grow a strong love, a true, deep love for our Savior! I want to be addicted, I want to crave you Jesus! I know that so often when temptations arise or when a feeling of not wanting to spend time with Jesus I leave you, God. I forget or choose to ignore all you have done for me. Help me to push aside my selfish desires, help me to fight my sinful nature! You are God! All I Need. You deserve all my praise. Help me to give it all to you. Amen.

This is my goal, and I hope it is everyone else's too! We live in such a crazy mixed up world, but we must not settle for it. We must STAND FIRM. It's not easy, we will be met with obstacles that will try to distract us from the Lord's path, but with him we can do all things!

Woww! I am soo unbelievably overwhelmed when I think about the amazing love of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Sitting in church last Sunday I began to think about my up and coming senior year of high school I will be starting in the fall. Excitement starting filling my head as I decided this year would be different. I no longer want to be the typical Christian girl. Yes I go to church. No I do not drink. Yes people know I am a Christian, but is that truly enough? On Fire is the way I hope people use to describe my relationship with Christ. Shining his light is my goal this year and the rest of my life. I love my God. I am overjoyed when I think about what he has done and continues to do for me. This year I will stand firm in what I believe and let him use me in whatever way He chooses. Hard? Yes. Worth it? OF COURSE. I’m so excited to share experiences, struggles, and encouragement with fellow believers through this cite! Get ready for the Journey.
