being sick sucks, being sick with no one to take care of you especially sucks. so after years of sucking up to your parents, they finally allowed kenny to stay under the same roof as you whilst they were on a business trip.
the first days seemed alright, walking to school together and making meals for one another, until one day you were walking to the grocery store and rain started pouring down on you. naturally making you sick.
now, kenny sat next to you, caring for you like you were on your death bed. holding a spoon of medicine next to your mouth as you rapidly shook your head.

it always bugged you how everyone complained about school. ‘homework,’ ‘school assemblies,’ ‘school pictures’, all of that..
i mean almost ‘everyone’ had those experiences.. and by everyone, everyone except you.
you started highschooling since kindergarten, your parents always overprotective to show you the ‘meaningful’ side of learning instead of the crap that the schools taught you.
after finding kenny and his friends, these complaints grew more and more.
“i dont wanna do mr garrison’s homework, its an 3000 word essay for christ’s sake!’ kyle groaned, lying onto cartmans couch. after kenny finally asked you out, you eventually joined their friendgroup, considering all your friends were ‘melvins’.
“you actually do that shit? i just put the thing into chatgpt and just delete all the shit i wouldn’t say.” stan laughed as he sat on the floor, back behind the couch.
all of this didn’t seem real to you. ai? chatgpt? your parents would ground you even mentioning it — yet alone use it.
“you guys you guys!” cartman yelled running from his kitchen with snacks, like always. “guess who got a date with the heidi turner for prom.”

“uh.. whats a prom?” you asked, half of the group gasping whilst cartman rolled his eyes.

“prom is a type of dance event that schools host every few years. its meant to be special.. apparently— personally i think its kinda gay dude.” stan explained. “wendy wants me to take her but honestly i don’t wanna go.” he continued.
you shrugged, “well i hope you guys have fun.” your voice blunt, kenny hadn’t asked you to go with him so you assumed he’d go with a friend or stay at home reading magazines. once again, left out.

you perked your head up as you nodded. “sure! its this thursday right?”

“hey dude!” stan exclaimed, “okay look, guys wear suits or some fancy shit, just not that english 1980s shit butters wore last prom, and chicks wear dresses and look pretty.”
you nodded as you took mental notes. after a bunch of banter the group of friends decided to go home, kenny especially making sure to walk you to your house. once reaching your doorsteps, placing a soft peck on your lips.
“i’ll pick you up at 6 on friday, doll.” he said softly kissing you once more and watching as you entered into your house.
despite kenny being the poorest in the friendgroup he was the first to get his license and get his car, repairing an broken down car he found abandoned on the side of the road, surprisingly, it worked better than your parents car.
the day of prom arrived, you sprayed the last of your scent in your bottle before quickly fixing your hair. hearing kennys car outside, you quickly rushed outside, glitter following you as you wore your glittery corset dress.
you opened the door to find kenny in a tux, hair done somewhat neatly, still having that iconic ragged kenny look to it holding a bouquet of roses.
“hi handsome !” you said happily as your family rushed behind you.
