You Can’t Cut A Star
tomahawk-swing:
It wasn’t a good day without some virus busting. Tomahawkman hated to just wait for his operator to finish classes, so he often went on little trips by himself, in hopes to find a good distraction.
He headed towards his usual battling spots, and was surprised to find a Navi already hunting down the viruses. As he got closer, he quickly identified the “Navi”, and a smile tugged at his lips.
“That’s me ! It’s good to see you again, Subaru ! Or should I call you Rockman ?” Tomahawkman greeted. “I was just looking for some viruses to bust, but I see you’ve almost taken care of them all. What’s bringing you here ?”
Subaru. “Rockman’s fine.” He replied, small smile on his face. He and Tomahawkman haven’t really interacted as much, so this was a little awkward for the boy. Still, it’s better to be polite than rude.
“Ah, much of the same. I just wanted to get some-” He stopped himself short. Just for a moment. He can’t let the other know this was for stress relief of all things. Quick, change the answer.
“Training. I can work out while I’m like this, so some virus busting in the past helps figure how battles work more in your time.” Nice save! Was it really though? Here’s hoping this little ruse works.

“ subaru. ”
There’s no happiness in the way Sam says his name when she approaches him, no joy in reuniting with a good friend. Maybe under different circumstances there would be, sure, but today? Today wasn’t one of them. Not after catching that expression on his face.
She’s standing in front of his table, now. Her own face is drawn and pinched with what could only be concern as brown eyes briefly study the boy.
“ well.,” she begins. A trying smile takes over her expression. ” it’s good to see you’re still alive and kicking. ”
It was a start.
“ how are you doing? don’t worry, i’m not gonna stay for long. i just came by to pick something up. ”
Subaru could instantly tell the mood was soured. It was his fault after all. He put on a softer face and let out a sigh. “Gomen.” He apologized, his translator slipping out into his actual tongue. “If it made you seem I didn’t like seeing you, that was not what I wanted to do. Please, sit.”
As the waiter dropped off Subaru’s drink, the boy kept his smile up. As soon as they left, Subaru returned his attention to Sam. “Sorry, I’ve been having some thoughts lately and I wanted some alone time. Even War Rock is off somewhere on the net, deleting some viruses while I’m here.” Through the few times Subaru and Sam have talked, she has proven to be kind and easy to talk to. Maybe she’ll understand. “Truth is...”
A single moment passed between what he would say next. His words being carefully picked in his head, his outward appearance shifted for just a moment, as he returned to his frown. “I decided I don’t want to be an astronaut anymore, and my friends aren’t taking it pretty well.”
'' Anything special you learned from the NetNavi's? '' to subaru while he's stil in the past.
It’s easier to let yourself get hurt for the sake of others, then let them fight in dangerous situations. Let your body break apart before anyone gets hurt.
“Nothing can really come to mind. I’m sorry...”

Cafe Etoille. Subaru thinks of this place often, and for good reason. It’s where he met a new friend, Sam, and it’s one of the few places that manages to nail a realistic depiction of space without being an actual observatory. He often finds himself coming back here to take a break from work. And from people in general sometimes. Is that healthy?
So, he sits himself down at his favorite table, the one next to the Sagittarius constellation (his birth sign!) and orders a Stellar Strawberry tea, a Horologium Honey Sandwhich, some Moon Rabbit Mochi, and plans to bring a Stellar Strawberry cake back home (for his own enjoyment later of course). What he did not expect, was to see his friend Sam walk in to the cafe as well. And she has noticed him now, hasn’t she?
‘No point trying to hide. Looks like my day of chilling out, has become a day of hanging out.’ He thought to himself with a sigh. He’s not sharing that cake.

Taking frustrations out on Viruses has been a lovely stress reliever since the days of Navi’s, or at least that’s what the history books say. So, Subaru, a little stressed after everything, thought that some fun in the ast would do him some good.
Left and right viruses would fall, Subaru keeping up a sword on one arm and a Vulcan in the other, slicing and blasting until the group of Met’s were deleted. Unlike Navi’s, or Wizard’s for that matter, Rockman could actually work up a sweat doing this, so it helped as a bit of a workout. Though it seems his foray into the past would be interrupted by the arrival of someone, he hadn’t seen a little bit.
“Ah, Tomahawkman, right? I haven’t seen you in a bit. What are you doing here?” He asked of the approaching Navi, too worked up to think of whether it was polite to greet like that or not, despite the boy being more familiar with the other’s NetOP, who was certainly watching this interaction.
{{Going to take a small break from Noisy Changes, for the sake of getting at least a thread or two going before proceeding further. To really drive how bad Subaru’s mental sate has been lately some plot progression into the current state of NC. So like this post for a thread~}}

Thinking about it, it’s for the best you figure out who you are. You manage to navigate yourself around the cave, crouching all the while, which is not helping with that ache. You finally get to the puddle, and look at the surface, hoping to get a reflection. And you do… But, something is definitely off here.
Who are you? Your head stings a little thinking about it. Some thoughts pop up in your head at lease. You came here to investigate odd activity, and you got in a fight. Misora threw herself at Subaru, and… Thinking about those names hurt, but feel comforting at the same time. You touch the mask around your mouth. The two sides feel fit together, but odd in textures. The blue is rough, and the pink is smooth. You look at the glowing orange figure, and are able to remember one more thing currently. “Denpa… Fusion?”
>Check Orange Glowing Figure >Check Big Glowing Figure >Investigate Buster On Arm
Pressing concern of your own identity aside, you decide it best to check on the others in the cave with you. Starting with the orange one, you once again crawl over to find...
An FM-ian? No, an AM-ian? Ugh, it’s hard to tell without saying it outright. Where is your partner anyways? Partners? Questions for later still. You see that they’re laid out on their stomach, and you flip them over. They resemble both a dragon, and a volcano at the same time. You would think this weird, if you weren’t so used to this stuff by now. Honestly, the fact you aren’t screaming your head off over this is voice for concern. No, it’s not. We’re fine. Everything’s fine. We Don’t Need Help.
Regardless, upon closer examination, their shoulders seem to resemble dragon heads. Three dragon heads? Perhaps a Hydra? You finally look at their face, only to realize, it’s covered. By a knights helmet. But you can feel your head hurt as you focus on their eyes. Do their eyes have something to do with the things you can’t remember?

Piecing It Together
You wake up to a killer headache, and a massive strain on your back. You try and figure out what’s going on, but doing so right now is kind of not possible. You get up, but hit your head on some rocks. Turn out your in a cave of some sorts. Looking around, you spot three things with what little light is in here. What should you do?
>Investigate Puddle for Reflection, to recall who you are >Investigate Orange Glowing Figure >Investigate Big Glowing Figure

{{For the next plot point, things are going to be a little different. My friends, you get to control the main character of the post!
General rules are basically: You are limited to the options given, but if an Option says Free Choice, then come up with what to do and I’ll choose an action randomly. As for who you control, well, That’s Part of the Mystery about to unfold.}}
Alone Time
It’s easier for Subaru to meet up with everyone by taking Wave Roads out in space to their destination quicker, since he still doesn’t have a passport. But, his little personal talks while War Rock takes a nap in the buster have been… A lot different lately.

“Oh…you are sad tall bag of meat, aren’t you mini rock.” She gives a little hum before continuing, all while misunderstanding the boy. “I still think you should fight for your identity more, you care too much of other meat bags opinions. The only opinion that should matter is your own. He’s the only meat bag you are permanent stuck with. So stop it.”
She giggles. “Your threats are cute. I’ll give you credit that you went after something I love but you chicken out at the end. Why wouldn’t I want to see the wooden ones or a goose. Geese are funny and are able to scare people away. Honestly I think Pi is better at threats. Good try though.”
“Well in that case, I agree. It is weird,” Once he takes a sharp turn, she holds on tighter briefly. Sounding a bit more excited with the conversation, “There could also even be more places that are similar, we just have to explore and observe. Oh- and from what I’ve seen so far, you guys have interesting weird habits.”
“Even the alien I just met is nagging on my own mental health. Cool. No, this is great.” Subaru had mostly spoken to himself this time, but if you paid attention to him you could’ve made out what he said. He shook off his own attitude, and responded in his usual polite tone, “I’ll try to keep that in mind.”
“RRRRRGGH...” War Rock began to growl, but finally the host of the body stepped in. “You’ll have to forgive him, War Rock’s a doer, not a talker. You’d be more likely to see him punch a problem away instead of using his head to figure it out. Plus, considering the animosity between FM-ians and AM-ians I don’t think he can hold himself back much longer.”
“I guess. But that’s up to people who actually want to get out there and do that.” Subaru jumped off the wave road, landing on the streets below. He began to walk calmly, the destination now nearby enough he no longer has to move fast. “Well, everything is relatively weird to those who aren’t from there. Like, it was weird to me when I started being able to go through stuff, but it was regular for radio wave beings like yourself. That said, what weird stuff do humans do?”

{{So, I’m gonna be real with you, I have no idea how this happened, or where I am. Not even fully sure who you are, I just know you moderate what people see of our work.}}
“Well, it’s April Fools, so I assume this will be reversed by the end of the day, and most of your memories of this will be erased. So I say enjoy this while it lasts. Me? I’m gonna go put hot sauce in everyone’s drinks.”
