Its fucking horrible what happened today at the islamic center in san diego. i cant stop thinking about it. the security guard they killed apparently left behind EIGHT children and there were two other victims. its heartbreaking. il definitely repost any links here about mutual aid for his family if they put any up.
Hey guys, due to my health issues and chronic pain I'm unable able to take most of my hours this month for work. Unfortunately that does leave me with some medical and personal expenses that I'm unable to cover right now. If you can please share this post and/or donate I would really appreciate that!
Hola, my name is Calli, I'm a mexican nonbinary parent with a fuck ton of health issues and I never planned to end up like this.
Our last post isn't moving at all.
My gallbladder and liver need constant medication to not get further fucked up, I have a bunch of untreated tumor/growths I hope my healthcare will deal with at some point, I have chronic pain which affects my hips, back and left leg and sometimes my leg dislocates at random, just this August I've had two periods in less than 28 days, this is a common occurrence almost every month, and I've been dealing with teeth pain so intense it causes headaches, hurts my jaw, neck and now I have pain inside my right ear I suspect it's related to my teeth pain.
I hoped my healthcare would cover dental procedures but it only covers some basic stuff like cavities and cleaning and not the x-ray and endodontist I need.
I haven't been able to get a tetanus shot for a couple of cuts I got handling rusted metal, it seems less swollen but it healed in a permanently semi-openway.
Plus I get random dizziness and sometimes complete blackouts where I lose my sight for brief periods of time.
You can tell this has hindered my ability to work.
I won't go into all the ailments my partner has but he deals with chronic illness and pain.
Still we're the main providers for our family of 9, since we took in my in-laws after they lost grandma and their house to a house fire.
We have sold and pawn everything we had of value, including our phones and the computer. We can only access when we're able to rent one at the internet café or by exchanging hours of our free labor for a bit of internet time to look for jobs, print CVs and beg for help here.
I try to be as thorough as possible for people to understand we're having a hard time. Like the house has a big humidity problem most of the rooms have black mold growing in them
And I try to always link back to the previous post for transparency's sake.
Before selling our phones we used to offer as much proofs of our situation as we could, same for proofs that the funds were being used properly.
On top of that we care for 4 diabetics in the house, including my in-laws, my MiL needs a hysterectomy and a surgery to ease the pain from her two herniated discs, she had to undergo 4 biopsies this year to discard breast cancer and needs a lot of care for her gastritis. We also hope she will get referred soon to get her eyes checked since she is losing her sight from her right eye and has lost mobility on her left arm from getting it fractured two times years ago.
It doesn't need to be said she has a hard time moving on her own and my partner has taken the task of helping her move around, that's why one of us has to be at home at all times to help her or my FiL move and after my health issues got worse my partner has been doing it full-time.
This has also impacted our time for job hunting.
Right now I'm exhausted, and I know we all are.
With the mold overtaking the house we've lost a lot of stuff including furniture, we have one bed we share and take turns to sleep in. All 9 of us.
It is moldy and as much as we've cleaned it it just isn't the same so we made an improvised cover taping together a bunch of black plastic bags so we at least avoid touching the moldy surface.
We have to clean the walls, doors and furniture with vinegar constantly whenever we notice the mold gaining terrain.
Between having to fundraise for groceries, my healthcare monthly renewal, my medication, transportation to our many appointments, be it interviews or doctor, we're never able to set aside enough to fix the mold and it's gotten so bad at least two doors are warped enough we get trapped in rooms many times a day on a daily basis which is very dangerous for our kids and elderly.
Also we had a kind of bad thunderstorm in recent weeks which caused a lot of vibration on our windows and the glass on our front door cracked which is letting in a lot of cold air. And also exacerbated our roach and ant problems.
Oh yeah, also our very old washing machine finally gave up so we either hand wash our most essential clothes, sometimes having to use it humid since it doesn't dry well with this weather or use the laundromat if we're lucky enough to get a donation for that.
I know I'm probably missing something, like how this had affected our kids school life or how our oven doesn't work anymore and I lost the ability to sell baked goods to earn some coin.
The point is everything got our of hand because everything needs money to get fixed and without money it gets worse and more stuff keeps piling up.
Finally, cause shit keeps getting worse, I've been trying to start the paperwork and court fees to secure my kids will be safe with my partner in case I die, September is the best month to write ones Testament here in México but first I need that paperwork sorted.
Please, anything helps, right now $1usd=$17 Mexican pesos.
Also reblogs are very very appreciated!!!
$167/$1,200
Paypal Kofi
This would cover: groceries, transportation for this week's appointments, my medication half priced tomorrow Monday, cat litter and cat food and paperwork/court fees.
We need an additional $1,300 for the mold repairs and we have not budgeted how much to fix the doors.
Thanks to you all's support we managed to afford the ride to get my MiL and partner back from the hospital.
Everything seems to be in order for her to undergo surgery, she will get admitted next Sunday, September 7th so she'll get her hysterectomy on Tuesday, September 9th.
WE NEED URGENT HELP TO AFFORD EVERYTHING SHE NEEDS FOR HER SURGERY!!!!
She needs two blood donors, it'll probably be my partner and we're asking the neighborhood for a volunteer.
We have a bit of money that I will use for my x-rays and get my teeth checked, the pain extends to my neck and ear, it is unbearable, I can barely eat or sleep.
We are very far from the goal, we need to focus on affording transportation to donate blood and for her hospitalization.
There is also the sensible matter that she will have to heal here after surgery but the mold makes this a very unsafe environment for her, we need to at the very least make another deep cleaning.
Is it ok to ask for more taxi fare, cleaning supplies and groceries?
I'd love to get a bed instead of the moldy bed on the floor, we don't want her to get hurt from the effort of having to lay down at floor level.
Some adult diapers and bed diapers will be needed just in case.
We're still going through a list of supplies for her post-op care.
We've got $30 but we still need all the help we can get for my mother-in-law's surgery, she will get hospitalized this Sunday 7th.
We need to cover for taxis, food expenses because my partner is going to stay with her the whole time, hygiene products, cleaning supplies and we need to get her some foods we can't afford, specially her Ensure(diabetic drinks).
$197/$600
Not to mention I have not got my x-rays, we used the $50 so my partner could go all the way to the hospital to be one of the blood donors she needed. So yeah, I'm still in terrible pain and ibuprofens are not helping.
My partner took his mom to the appointment, she was admitted and is now waiting for pre-op tests and she will finally get her hysterectomy next Tuesday September 9th. We still need confirmation for the exact hour.
In the meantime we got $60, I sent everything in an instant transfer to my partner so he can afford meals for himself.
Right now we need to focus on getting groceries for ourselves, some post-op care supplies for my MiL and cleaning supplies.
I'd like to afford a proper waterproof cover for our only bed so she doesn't have to sleep over plastic bags.
If we could get some extra money to afford a dentist I would be very very grateful 🥲 I can't stand the pain from my molar, I can't stand it and in sure getting an endodontist would be over $6k pesos.
Just, at least let us get groceries, my kids need milk and something more than rice. Maybe some soup I can eat without biting cause I can't stand the pain.
Thank you tho, for everything you've done for us 🙇
