Is TADC Ep 9 really releasing in theatres???
As of 03/29/2026, images have been circulating the internet showing that Cinemark will be premiering TADC Ep 9 alongside Ep 8 in theatres before the global release of Ep 9. I wanted to explore the reality of this being true.
This is what many people have been seeing. Like I just said, it claims to show both episodes 8 & 9 under the title 'The Last Act'. I believe that this isn't the actual title for Ep 9, however it may be the showing title for both episodes combined. It's claimed runtime is 1 hr & 38 mins, which is incredibly likely since we known from Gooseworx that Ep 9 will be about twice as long as Ep 8 (which is about 32 mins). This is especially believable if the credits are combined at the end of the showing instead of Ep 8's credits being shown after the episode's conclusion.
This being a Fathom event also makes sense. For those who saw the KPOP Demon Hunters Sing-a-long at Cinemark, you'll know that Fathom hosted that event. The release date of June 4th is the most unbelievable part of this. We already got a confirmed release date of June 19th from Glitch. Plus, June 4th is Thursday, which is kind of an odd day for a premiere showing (unless they're trying to avoid releasing overtop of 'Master's of the Universe', because those two fandoms definitely overlap).
Currently, this page is not available to be seen on Cinemark's website. If you search "the amazing digital circus cinemark", this is the top result:
The search result description matches the in-website description word for word (at least up until 'Read More'). However, if you go to click this link, this is what currently shows up:
The page is not found. What's really interesting though is that you can see in my search bar that the link is still 'valid', and that the name in the link still matches the name we know for the listing.
Not trusting an error page, I decided to put the link for the Cinemark page into the Wayback Machine, and I ended up with 3 snapshots (each pretty much identical). (The fourth snapshot is the capture I submitted for the error page).
Clicking on any of the first three snapshots leads you to this:
It seems that the listing is legit. I think the error where the description is supposed to be is an error on the Wayback Machine, seeing as the description still appears under the Cinemark search result (as seen above). The runtime, release date, genre, and titles all match up the original listing, meaning this listing wasn't photoshopped or generated slop.
Even if the listing was real, I don't think this exactly confirms a theatre release date. Here are the possibilities I think are possible:
This was a legitimate listing that just got released on the website way to early.
Someone with access to Cinemark's listings is having a blast trolling millions of people.
This was meant to be listed under something else - that something else being Cinemark's 'Secret Movie Series'.
I'll explain my reasoning behind #3. Cinemark's 'Secret Movie Series' is kind of like a blind-book date, where theatre-goers can get cheap tickets to see a surprise movie ahead of its actual release date. Here's what March 2026's 'Secret Movie Series' listing looks like:
With 'The Last Act' listing having a release date of June 4th, it's possible that it was meant to be listed under this series. However, I don't truly think this is the case because I think Cinemark would want to charge more than $5 for TADC fans to see the finale, and I don't think Fathom is the one hosting these Secret Movie Series (I could be wrong though).
Realistically, I think something between #1 and #2 is the reason behind this mysterious listing. While it would be exciting if TADC Ep 9 releases in theatres, I'm not gonna get my hopes up.
Thanks for reading this long post! I'm curious to know what you all think!
P.S. Cinemark, if this is real you will have my money.
