My name is Alexander, I am an indie-developer and a 3D model. I make a network game and share the process with everyone. Because of the war, I and my 7-year-old son Maxim were in different countries. Games are one of the few ways of our communication, so we decided to make our own game together. My son likes to take part in the creation (these are tips, drawings, discussion, plans and testing).

Happy New 2025 Year, Star Chickens!
Finally got around to textures and UV mapping for the character Rico. I wanted the textures to be similar to the original illustrations in the toon shading style. Added a dynamic outline, it will be displayed in the same form in the game engine. At this stage of work I only used Blender.
I’m testing texture baking (in the future this will be toon-shading). Added new types of character animation (strafe and running back), as well as a shadow on the floor (in the absence of light sources). Blender+Godot Engine
I made a simple game to test the interaction of the game character with objects located in the game space. The task is simple - collect all the coins. I use Blender and Godot Engine
Camera bug fixed! The essence of the problem was that the distance from the camera to the character was always the same and in narrow corridors the camera flew off the wall. I fixed it and now the camera moves closer to the character if there is an obstacle between the character and the camera
The next stage of work is controlling the character indoors. There are glitches with the camera (in narrow corridors the camera flies through the walls), but I will fix them. As before, I use Blender to create models, and the game engine is Godot
Made changes to the code so that you can control the character from a third-person view. For now I'm checking how everything works in open space. I also check how the animation changes depending on the character's actions
I wrote a couple of lines in gdscript (the programming language for the Godot game engine) to start moving along the terrain. The relief was prepared in Blender. First-person view, WASD controls (a little later I’ll make a mobile version with touch controls)
