tony was wearing a bulletproof vest at the showcase for the jericho missile. when the soldiers don’t talk to him on the ride back, when they don’t respond to his prompts, he speaks up and calls them out on it (“you’re making me feel like I’m going to a court martial”)— because silence to him is the absence of information, and that in of itself it a threat.
when the humvee blows up, he shouts at the soldier to give him a gun. he always expects something to go wrong, and plans for it. at any given moment, he is analyzing everybody’s body language around him, every aspect of the situation, and he is making a plan. a backup plan. a follow up plan. a ‘in case all else fails’ plan.
there’s no better example of “knowledge is power” than when looking at tony stark.
